Oceanside Harbor
A fun variation on a great event. Swimmers and triathletes alike will challenge each other over a distance
that is almost never raced outside of Ironman triathlons. 2.4 mile course takes athletes from the south
side of the Oceanside Pier into the Oceanside Harbor
finishing at the boat launch area. The 1.2 mile course
starts at the end of Harbor Drive and will join the
2.4 mile course to also finish in the harbor.

feature people dressed up like Santa waving to the
crowd. One of the best viewing spots is along the
side of the Oceanside Harbor near the fishing dock
and police station. From this vantage point, you
can see the parade twice.

San Luis Rey River Bike Trail. The San Luis Rey River Bike Trail is
a class I bicycle trail that is approximately 9 miles long. The trail
follows the path of the San Luis Rey River and is great for all age
groups. It is completely isolated from motorized traffic, doesn't have
any street lights and remains relatively flat throughout. Pick up a trail
map at the California Welcome Center - Oceanside.

Coastal Rail Trail. The Coastal Rail Trail is a 44 mile long regional
bicycle rail and pedestrian pathway that extends from Downtown
Oceanside to San Diego. The trail begins at the western end of the
San Luis Rey River Trail.
Museums. Downtown Oceanside
is home to two museums, the
California Surf Museum and the
Oceanside Museum of Art.
The California Surf Museum

1900s to Bethany Hamilton’s
shark-bitten board from her
attack in 2003 off the shores
