Thoroughbreds but not exclusively, typically with a higher wither and hollows
behind the shoulder. These hollows may be due to natural conformation,

This innovative saddle range from Pessoa has been designed to
maximise comfort and performance whilst maintaining the feel and
desirability associated with classic Pessoa designs.
Each saddle within the Pessoa range is an extension of the philosophy
that the saddle is a working tool for the rider. Each saddle is close
contact in design and provides the rider with a platform on which to find
the correct centre of balance and therefore excel in their performance.
Pessoa XCH saddles have many exciting features, an adjustable tree
enabling the width fitting of the saddle to be changed. The saddles also
feature new generation panel technology which has led to an increase
in comfort whilst maintaining that all important close contact feel.
All Pessoa leathers are vegetable tanned using a 200 year old
traditional tanning procedure. The hides therefore offer an
exceptional richness in texture and colour, extreme resistance
and durability and most of all, perfect malleability and softness.

Which Saddle Type?
Design
The panel depth and shape varies according to the type of horse it is most
suited to. Each panel is made up of a special memory foam layer and a layer
of flocking so each panel can be tailor fitted to any horse. The panels are
designed to achieve great stability and are lightweight at the same time.
Each saddle within the range has an AMS panel specially designed for a certain
type of horse. There are three types of panels: Standard, Alto and Corto.

Alto Panels
Alto panels are built to fit horses with a prominent wither and greater height
difference from wither to back. The saddle has a deeper AMS panel at the
front and back to offer extra support and clearance over the wither and spine.
The addition of a front gusset in the AMS panel gives clearance over the
withers with extra padding in the region of the panel that sits just behind the
shoulder to offer extra support where horses often lack muscle. To balance
the saddle, extra depth is also provided in the rear gusset of the AMS panel.
Corto Panels
Corto panels are aimed at a more compact type of horse with a well
developed muscular back. The gusset at the back of the saddle is flatter to
suit the contours of the horses back.

PDS Euro XCH – this is the primary saddle in the range which is suited to
a wide range of dressage riders with a typical dressage horse. This saddle
assists the rider in developing a correct position for dressage and enables
them to communicate with the horse. The PDS Euro has a standard AMS panel
and sticky leather. This leather offers the rider extra support in the saddle as its
high oil content gives extra grip and is extremely comfortable to sit on.
