European standard NF – EN 607,
for gutter profiles and fittings.
1. Shock testing at 0°C for one hour to test resistance in
cold conditions (hail, pressure of a ladder).
2. Warm and cold cycle testing, 100°C for 30’ then cooled
to ambient temperature.
No distortion or surface alteration detected in the
Nicoll raingutter system.
3. Resistance to ageing: gutter exposed for 1600 hours to
ultraviolet radiation and rain/evaporation cycles.
After testing, the Nicoll raingutter system showed
no discolouration and their shock resistance was
unchanged.
4. Seal: five 15’ cycles with hot water at 50°C followed by 10’ with cold water at 15°C.
No leaking detected in the Nicoll raingutter system.
5. Resistance to corrosion from pollution and acids.
European standard NF – EN 1462,
for gutter hooks (PVC or metal).
1. UV resistance for PVC the same as for gutter standard
NF-EN 607.
2. Corrosion resistance: - Class A for use in a harsh atmosphere,
- Class B for use in milder atmospheric conditions.
The Nicoll raingutter system facing and concealed
brackets are in class A.
3. Load resistance: - Class H for heavy-duty brackets, test load 750N,
- Class L for light brackets, test load 500N,
- Class O with an opening width of less than 80mm
(e.g. LG16).

The co-extrusion manufacturing process forms a durable
protective screen which guarantees excellent colourfastness on the external part and optimal UV resistance,
thereby preventing excessive internal expansion of the
profile due to heat.
TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT
The LG25 gutter associated with the Belriv system is certified,
on the basis of regular inspections, by the French building
engineering centre (CSTB) under technical recommendation
no. 14+5/10-1588, offering additional peace of mind in
terms of safety for the user.
HAIL TEST
To prove the high mechanical resistance of its guttering
systems, Nicoll has worked in close collaboration with the
CSTB building engineering centre (France).
DID YOU KNOW ?
The ranges of tests designed to reproduce once-in-adecade hailstorm conditions proved the high resistance of
the Nicoll systems which have been certified by the CSTB.

The test conducted by the CSTB consists of reproducing
the effects of a high intensity hail storm. This type of storm
occurs, on average, every 10 years in France.
• Ø of hailstone = 25 mm
• Terminal velocity at impact = 25 m/s
• Duration = 7 minutes
The test exerts significant stress on the product as it is subjected to a continuous shower of hailstones for three 7-minute periods. These tests are carried out by an engineer from
the CSTB at the CSTB’s facility.
The results of the tests have been catalogued in two reports
from the CSTB: EN-CAPE 09.151 C V0 et
EN-CAPE 09.152 C V0.

SPECIFICATION GUIDELINES
The gutter will be PVC from Nicoll’s Vodalis® 29 range providing coverage for 65 and 100 m2 of flat
roof per outlet or similar. It will use a solvent welding assembly system and its dimensions must comply
with the sizing rules for gutters and downpipes specified in the NFP 30.201, NFP 36.410 and NF EN
1462 standards and the French Building regulations DTU 60.11. It must be fitted in accordance with the
specification criteria and those defined by the French Building regulations DTU 60.2 - 60.11 and the NFP
36.410 standard.

The invisible bracket gives a smoother look to the design while the fascia
bracket maintains the traditional appearance.
Nicoll Vodalis brackets comply with the EN 1462 standard. This standard
requires each bracket to be able to withstand a load of 75 kg, whereas Nicoll’s
can withstand a 100 kg load.

to enhance its discretion. They
are reinforced at the back to
prevent them coming unclipped
and enhance their mechanical
resistance.
The new outlet with anti-splash
ribs allows the LG28 to service
flat roofs of up to 65 m2 and the
LG38 to service flat roofs of up
to 100 m2.
This part enhances the system’s
performance, particularly on 4-slope
roofs typical in some regions.
