HOW TO USE A SCANNER The Hardware : Scanner 1. Insert USB cable from scanner to USB port at your computer. (pic 1) 2. Switch on scanner. (pic 1) To power supply USB cable Scanner USB cable – USB Port pic 1 3. Open scanner cover. (pic 2) 4. Identify arrow sign on the scanner. (pic 2 ) Arrow sign pic 2 1 5. Put the material that you want to scan on the scanner glass. Let the upper part of the material is located at the arrow sign. Next, you must close the scanner cover. 2 The Software: Adobe Photoshop 6 and ScanGear CS-U To Scan 1. Choose Start>>Program>>Adobe>>Photoshop>>Photoshop 6.0 Pic 5 Adobe Pothoshop 6.0 workspace 2. File>>Import>>(The scanner model: for example CanoScan D646U) (pic 6) pic 6 3 3. Then, a ScanGear CS-U window will appear on your screen. (pic 7) pic 7 ScanGear CS-U options: Mono the Color :- Color Resolution :- 150 ppp Tamano Papel :- A4 Bergantung kepada keperluan ScanGear CS-U options: Previsualizar :-scan just for view Explorar :- real scanning Borrar:- Clear view screen 4. Click Previsualizar to view picture. (pic 8) pic 8 4 5.Click this icon and by using mouse, select the area that you want to scan. (pic 9 and 10) pic9 Select the area that you want to scan pic 10 5 6. You can resize the area by dragging the points just like the example below. (pic 11 ) pic 11 7. Then click Explorar, to start scanning. 8. The Scanning process can be stopped by clicking the cancelar button. 9. When finished close CS-U window, by clicking the X button. (pic 12) 1. Click here to close CS-U window 2. Image exported to Adobe Photoshop 6.0 pic 12 pic 13 6 To Resize Picture Step 1: Choose Image>>Image size Step 2: (pic 14 and 15) 1. Reduce or increase the number to resize the picture. 2. Use pixel. 3. Then click ok button. pic 14 pic 15 To Adjust Picture’s Brightness and Contrast. Step 1: Choose Image>> Adjust>> Brightness/Contrast (pic 16) pic16 Step 2 : Adjust brightness/contrast by dragging slider pointer. (pic 17) pic 17 7 Step 3 : when done (picture xx) click ok button to proceed. If not, click cancel button. (pic 18) Click ok button to proceed pic 18 Step 4: You can see the result right away after that. (pic 19) pic 19 8 To Save Picture File Step 1: File>>Save As Step 2: 1. choose your multimedia project multimedia. 2. Type relevan name for thr picture file 4. Click save button 3. Choose JPEG (*.JPG) Step 3: Step 4: N E X T N E X T Click Ok button to proceed 9
