Simone says: Cleanse well and great skin will follow.
However, most people simply don't know how to cleanse,
claims this New York City-based, French-trained aesthetician, who's been coddling complexions for more than
40 years. The result? Skin becomes dry on the surface,
and that traps oils and impurities deeper down-causing
problems to pop up later. The surprising solution, insists
France, is to wash your face with good old soap, "the best
cleanser there is." Of course, almost any dermatologist
will tell you that soap is far too drying for use on the face.
Hence the creation of the Simone France "sandwich," a
three-step regimen that begins with the application of a
protective film of moisturizer that also softens dead cells
(and thus readies them for removal), followed by an exfoliating scrub and-Iastly-a
layer of soap. Cared for in
this manner, she says, skin becomes softer, smoother,
and more luminous.
