205 ORDERED IN 1965. 36 SURVIVED VIETNAM. PURCHASED A FEW YEARS AGO AND ENJOYED RESEARCHING ITS HISTORY AND RESTORING IT BACK TO 1965 AS ISSUED CONDITION FROM BELL HELICOPTER. IT’S AN AWESOME PIECE OF HISTORY. NOTHING BEATS A HUEY GUNSHIP PERIOD. THIS SHIP STARTS AND RUNS GREAT! THERE ARE NO RECORDS FOR THIS HELO. THE LAST OWNERS THAT FLEW THIS HELO
WERE THE USDA FL. FORESTRY SERVICE. THEY SURPLUSED THIS HELO, TO REPLACE IT WITH –H- MODELS. IT IS BEING SOLD WITH NO
DATA PLATE AND NO RECORDS. ENG, TRANS AND BLADES ARE MISSING SERIAL NUMBERS. ALL GUN MOUNTS, AMMO CANS, CHUTES,
GUNS, AND 2.75 ROCKET PODS ARE INCLUDED IN THE SALE. ALL GUNS ARE NON-FIRING DUMMIES. THIS HELICOPTER WAS HANGAR KEPT
MOST OF ITS LIFE. BEING SOLD AS A STATIC DISPLAY THAT RUNS. RECORDS HAVE BEEN LOST. SLOW FUEL LEAK,
VERY SLOW HYDRAULIC LEAK. (they all leak). NO EXPORTING WITHOUT PROPER PAPERWORK PERIOD. (EUC ). THIS MIGHT BE THE ONLY

*THE USDA SPENT 50k ON THIS HELO BEFORE SURPLUSING IT. THIS INCLUDED UPDATES
AND A ENGINE HOT-END. ALL FLUIDS HAVE BEEN CHANGED. ALSO HAD 3 AP MECHANICS
GO THROUGH THE BIRD AND CHECK EVERYTHING. WHEN THEY WERE DONE, THEY
WANTED TO GO FOR A RIDE. THIS BIRD IS JUST AS THE USDA FLEW IT IN 2000.
BASICALLLY THEY LANDED IT AND SHUT IT OFF. EVERYTHING IS AS ORIGINAL AS THEY
FLEW IT. ONLY 1 TAIL ROTOR BLADE WAS USED FROM ANOTHER HELO, THE ORIGINAL
WAS REMOVED FOR SHIPMENT AND WAS LOST.
*NOTE* HELMETS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE.
* MANY WELL KNOWN VIETNAM VETS FLEW THIS HUEY OVER THE YEARS. FROM A 2
STAR GENERAL TO A DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS RECIPIENT.. CLYDE CHILDRESS.
CLYDE FLEW THE HUEY OVER 100 HOURS IN HIS ORIGINAL LOG BOOKS. (SEE copy.)
CLYDE WAS AWARDED 21 SERVCE AIR MEDALS, AND WAS SHOT DOWN TWICE. IF YOU

FAST FACTS for lot 6125H:
Bell Helicopter built 10,005 Hueys from 1957 to 1975. Prior to 1957, there were three
XH-40 prototypes and six
YH-40 test helicopters manufactured.
Of the 10,005 production Hueys, the first 732 were designated HU-1A and HU-1B.
9,216 of these went to the U.S. Army, 79 to the U.S. Air Force, 42 to the U.S. Navy, and
127 to the U.S.Marine Corps.
The rest went to other countries.
Records show that 7,013 Hueys served in the Vietnam War. Almost all were Army.
