ADVERTISING & SOLICITING
No person will be permitted to distribute advertising matter, upon the grounds, except
from their place of business or exhibit space unless permission has been obtained from the
Fair Office.
Begging and soliciting are prohibited on the grounds
ANIMALS
No animals will be allowed to run at large on the grounds. Violation of this rule will
subject the animal to removal from the grounds. All animals or articles entered will
be at all times subject to the control of the Board of Directors. Every precaution will
be taken to prevent loss and accidents, yet the Fair Association will not be responsible
should any occur.
EXHIBITORS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE THEIR REGISTRY AND HEALTH
PAPERS WITH THEM FOR INSPECTION. DOGS ARE TO BE ON A LEASH AT ALL
TIMES.
CAMPING
No gray water to be dispersed on the ground. All camping fees to be paid in the
office.
CAR PARKING
Visitors to the Fair are requested to assist in maintaining a neat condition of the
grounds by refraining from any unnecessary discarding of papers or other litter.
An efficient corps of ground men will assist in the parking of automobiles and will render courteous service to all visitors. We reserve the right to park your car where we want
it.
ENTRIES
Each exhibitor must purchase an exhibitor’s ticket at the time of making entry. No
complimentary or season ticket will be recognized in the Entry Department.
No exhibitor (individual, partnership or firm) will be permitted to enter or show more
than two animals or article for any purse offered under one premium number. The Jersey
County Fair Association reserves the right to close entries in any livestock department
when all available stalls or pens have been assigned.
All entries except get of sire and produce of dam in breeding classes must be made
in the name of the owner and all made or manufactured articles must be entered by
the maker. All articles or produce of soil must have been made and grown by the
exhibitor. Entry blanks may be obtained from the Secretary on request. Exhibitors will
greatly assist the management by filling out their own entry blanks. All entries must
be in the hands of the Secretary by 5 p.m. July 12, 2015 except Floriculture which will
have until 4 p.m. Thursday July 16, 2015.
All competing animals shall be exhibited and paraded at the discretion of the superintendents and any exhibitor failing to comply with this rule will forfeit any premium
awarded to his stock.
All winners of first premiums in class are eligible for championship of same breed
without entering.
FOR MORE EFFICIENT PROCESSING OF ENTRY TAGS, ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED
AS SOON AS THE FAIR OFFICE OPENS AT 9:00 A.M. ON TUESDAY, JULY 1ST AT THE
FAIRGROUNDS. ENTRIES ARE PROCESSED ON FIRST COME - FIRST SERVED BASIS.

EXHIBITS
Each exhibit must purchase an exhibitor’s ticket at the time of making entry. No
stalls or pens will be reserved in advance but will be assigned to each exhibitor by the
Department Superintendent when the stock arrives on the Fair Grounds. All Exhibits
shall be property of the exhibitor or of a firm that has been in existence more than 30
days prior to July 8, 2015.
FEES - An entry fee will be charged on each article and each animal shown for a premium except where otherwise stated.
STATE SANITARY RULES REGARDING HANDLING
OF FOOD AND DRINK ON FAIRGROUNDS
1. Food stands must be located at least 50 feet from livestock pens.
2. Food stands must be enclosed with screens or provided with electric fans placed
in such a manner to expel flies.
3. Ample dishwashing facilities must be provided and operated in compliance with
state dishwashing regulations.
4. All water, including dishwater, shall be disposed of by placing it in the sewers and shall not be thrown on the ground within 100 yards of any food stand.
5. No drinks, either hot or cold, may be dispensed by hand dipping into the liquid.
Drinks may be dispensed by serving from either a bottle of a closed
Container by means of a faucet or a tap.
6. Single service paper cups, plates, knives, forks and spoons shall be used.
7. Daily garbage collections will be provided by the Fair. Metal garbage
containers with covers must be used.
8. All foods must be kept under refrigeration except bakery goods.
a. Refrigerator means electricity operated at a temperature of 35 degrees
Fahrenheit.
b. Frozen foods must be kept in a deep-freeze refrigerator at a temperature of
0 degrees Fahrenheit.
9. No cooked foods or prepared sandwiches shall be prepared more than
2 hours before sale and shall be kept under refrigeration.
10. No leftover cooked foods or prepared sandwiches may be sold the following day.
11. All foods shall be protected from contamination by dust, flies, or public
handling.
2015 RULES AND REGULATIONS
PAYMENT OF PREMIUMS
Pickup of entries and premiums will be paid in full at the Exhibition Hall from 1:00
to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2015 except livestock checks which will be mailed.
POLICE
An efficient force of police will be on the grounds both day and night and will be
in charge of keeping the peace and will allow no gambling or immodest allows. Also
they will not allow any intoxicated person on the grounds or allow any drinking of
intoxicants (Beer included) in the grandstand, in the chair section, in or and around any
exhibitor’s tent. Drinking of Beer must be confined to the Beer Garden. Dogs are to be
on a leash at all times. Any person entering the fairgrounds without paying the gate
submission price when APPREHENDED WILL BE FINED $5.00. The Fairboard reserves
the right to have anyone removed from the grounds for improper conduct.
PROTESTS
Protests designed to affect awards must be made by an interested party and notice in
writing stating the grounds for protesting must be given to the Secretary on the date of the
contest. In every case of protest the protesting parties must deposit a sum of money equal
to the amount of the purse. In the event of the protest being sustained, the above sum shall
be returned to the complainant, and if the protest shall not be sustained, the said sum shall
be forfeited to the Board.
REFRESHMENTS
A lot of good eating and refreshment stands will be on the grounds and your patronage
is solicited. These stands will be inspected and approved by the Fair officials before they
may operate.
All persons furnishing refreshments are required to have their supplies on the grounds
by 4:00 p.m., each day. This rule will be enforced.
All soft drink and concession stands must post prices.
NOTICE FOR EXHIBITORS AND CONCESSIONAIRES:
The use of gongs, bells or other noisy instruments for the purpose of attracting
attention is prohibited. The operation of loud speaking equipment must be approved
by the Fair board. NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL PERMITTED ON THE FAIRGROUNDS.

The officials of the Jersey County Fair are happy to
announce that the 2015 Fair will be open to all Exhibitors.
The Fair is being operated under the Supervision of
the State Department of Agriculture and we earnestly
request our exhibitors and concessionaires to comply with
all the rules and regulations of the Department.
We extend a most cordial invitation to everyone to
join us in making the Jersey County Fair a success
and we will do everything possible to make your visit a
pleasant one so you will be back next year.
The 2015 Board of Directors of the Jersey County
Fair have been instructed to inform all personnel that no
passes will be issued for the 2015 Fair and all Fair officials,
directors and superintendents shall buy an official ticket.
JUDGES
No premiums will be awarded on animals or articles which the judges declare unworthy
to receive a premium.
Any person attempting to interfere with the judge or who shall tear off a ribbon in the
presence of the judge shall forfeit all prizes won and be excluded from all showing.
Should any doubt arise in the mind of the judge as to an article or animal being entered
in the wrong class, the same shall be referred to the superintendent and if he is unable to
decide or does not care to decide, he shall refer it to the Committee of Appeals.
In all cases, the decision of the judge shall be final.

to be released July 15th at end of show. Stall rent must accompany
entry blanks. All cattle must have been tested and free from tuberculosis and contagious abortion. Bring your own water buckets.
State law prohibits watering from tanks. Bring your own tie out
gates.
Each exhibitor will be permitted to buy one helper’s ticket at
$5.00. All animals must be exhibited in individual classes to be
eligible for group showing. Exhibitors are required to have their registry papers and health certificates for inspection at all times during
the Fair Week. If anyone is found showing an animal out of class, all
premium money will be forfeited. Registration papers to be checked
following weighing of steers. No house trailers allowed in the livestock area at any time. Please no trucks, cars, or trailers to be parked
in the livestock area from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Any individual class
with 11 or more will be divided. All steers to be entered in the heavy
class and if 7 or more are entered in one breed, then the steer class
will be divided into light and heavy, but if more than 12 are entered,
we will divide the class into heavy, medium and light weight. All
Exhibitors must use the west gate.

All exhibits shown must be owned by a boy or a girl 8 years old or in third grade
and not yet 19 years of age on or before September 1, of the year previous to the fair.
Registration of entries will be taken until Sunday, July 12, 2015 at
5:00p.m.. Exhibit Hall will be open Sunday, July 12th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00p.m. and Monday,
July 13th from 8:30 to 5:30 p.m. Entries must be in place by Monday, July 13 at 5:30 p.m.
Entries in grain class must be exhibited in wide mouth glass containers.
Entry fee $1.00 on winners only. Entry fees will be collected from the junior show winners at
the time they pick up their premium check. Each exhibitor must purchase an exhibitor’s ticket at
the time of making entry. All exhibits must have been personally make and owned by the exhibitor
except in hobby show.
THOSE DESIRING TO ENTER OPEN CLASS MAY DO SO, HOWEVER, THEY WILL BE REQUIRED
TO PURCHASE AN EXHIBITOR’S TICKET AND TAKE ITEMS ON TO OPEN CLASS THEMSELVES. USE
DEPT V RULES FOR PHOTOGRAPHY. All exhibits can be shown only one year. All exhibitors may make only one entry per class. Size measurements include fabric area only. All entries
must be picked up between 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, July 19. Entry fees will be collected
from the junior show winners at the time they pick up their premium check. Premium checks

have a Health Certificate issued within 30 days of the entry. Junior Class age 17 and under except for Junior
walk/trot which is 16 and under. Junior horse pleasure for horses aged 5 and under must have papers in

ticket at the time of making entry. All exhibits must be bonafide propery of exhibitor. Cards may be attached to entries giving information
that would be of interest to the public. Not responsible for breakage
or theft. Age of articles, state of preservation, quality, rarity and beauty
will be considered in judging antiques. Cups and saucers count as one
piece, lids count for completeness. Exhibitor will be charged entry fee
on all no-show over 5 per department.*
Division 1,3,5,7 & 8 - two entries per category. Division 2 and 4, one
entry per category. Divisions 5 through 8 must be made by exhibitor.
Division 6 - All photography entries must be affixed to a posterboard
approximately 1 inch larger than the photograph. NO FRAMES
ALLOWED. Panoramic Photo ONLY maybe in a frame and larger than 8 x
10. No photographs larger than an 8 x 10 will be accepted for judging.
All entry tags must be affixed to the back of the exhibit in the upper left
corner. All photographs must be the work of the exhibitor. Exhibitors
are limited to ONE entry per class. (Except if entered in Dept P ) Each
photograph may be entetered in only ONE class.
Division 7 must be framed for hanging, any size, any medium. Two
year premium limit for 2nd and 3rd place and any 1st place may not be
exhibited again. All entries must be picked up between 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
on Sunday, July 19th.

Entry Fee $5.00 on winners only. Stall rent $1.50 per head.
Entry fee - $5.00 per class, (winners only) pen rent $1.50
per head. Base date for computing age is July 19, 2015. All
entries must be received by July 16, 2015. The original registration certificate is required for all animals 6 months of
age or older and this must be shown to the secretary before
the start of the show. The original registration certificate or
duplicate application stamped by the office is required for
all aminals under 6 months of age and this must be shown
to the secretary before the start of the show. No copies of
these documents will be accepted. Registration papers will
be checked on arrival. Animals must be in place by Saturday,
July 18 at 6:00 p.m. and stay until released Sunday, July 19,
2015 at the end of the show. No more than two monies per
exhibitor will be paid per class. Goat must be free from visible evidence of any infection, contagious or communicable
disease. Any animal which shows lesions of contagious
echthyma (sore mouth) may not be exhibited and must be
removed from the exhibition area.
Show will start at 9:00 a.m. Wethers will weigh at 8:00 a.m.
All Senior Doe classes will show first by breed show order,
then can be milked out. Junior Doe classes will
follow, then group classes by breed. Exhibitors must
use west gate to enter grounds.
