Equestrian Stacy Westfall Visits Michigan
Speaks to Employees & Community at Plymouth-Based Business
PLYMOUTH, Mich. – Cequent™ Performance Products, North America’s leading
manufacturer of towing and trailer products, welcomed world renowned horse trainer
Stacy Westfall to its Michigan facilities earlier this month. Westfall, who is sponsored by
the Cequent brand Tekonsha®, the leading manufacturer of brake controls, spoke at
Cequent’s Tekonsha, Mich. facility and its Plymouth, Mich. headquarters, discussing her
childhood in Maine, college and married life in Ohio, equestrian competitions, and life on
the road.
“It’s great to have one of our sponsored athletes take time to visit with our employees
and talk about their use of our brands,” said Tom Benson, president of Cequent
Performance Products. “For Stacy, that means Tekonsha brake controls in her vehicles,
of course, but she and her husband are also loyal to the Reese brand as well, and that,
to me, shows how much faith people like Stacy have in our products.”
Westfall is one of the most sought-after clinicians in the equestrian industry. She rose to
international fame in 2006 after becoming the first and only woman to win the Road to
the Horse competition. Her bridleless, bareback performance that same year at the All
American Quarter Horse Congress Freestyle Competition won her international fame
via the world wide web, and led to an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show a
couple of years later.
In 2011, Tekonsha began sponsoring Westfall. The following year, the ‘Horse
Whisperer’ as she’s often referred to, was inducted into the National Cowgirl Hall of
Fame in Fort Worth, Texas.

Hundreds were in attendance at the day-long event at CPP, where Westfall posed for
photos and signed autographs in front of her Tekonsha-wrapped horse trailer.
