hanit® Cable Conduit Covers
hanit ® – the material from recycled plastics The economical alternative for industrial applications! 1 Cable Conduit Covers (CC Covers) With our patented Cable Conduit Covers we offer you products that are suited for all established supply ducts. They are walkable and – if desired – accessible by vehicles. In technical, economical, and ecological respects our CC Covers are the optimum solution for new construction projects as well as for the replacement of rotted wood or brittle concrete covers. Our hanit® Cable Conduit Cover System – generates multiple benefit! Through utilization of these high-quality secondary rawmaterials (material purity level > 95 %) expensive new material is replaced and environmental resources are conserved. In view of the price-performance ratio, the hanit® material increasingly replaces wood, steel, metal, concrete, and primary plastics. Brief description of the pressure tests In a series of experiments with 3 specimens each, HAHN KUNSTSTOFFE GMBH tested the performance of covers 8 with the following dimensions and clear widths (CW) under a load of Fmax = 75 kN: W x L x H: 800 x 400 x 80 mm, clear width 600 mm W x L x H: 1,000 x 400 x 80 mm, clear width 800 mm W x L x H: 1,200 x 400 x 80 mm, Top view clear width 1,000 mm Force F The covers/specimens were loaded with an indenter manufactured in accordance with DIN 124. The indenter has a 250 mm diameter, which corresponds to a pressure area of about 49,000 mm². The pressure tests were carried out at a temperature of about 20 °C and a load duration of t = 10 s/item. The specimens were tested under the most unfavourable load condition. Clear Width Front view Load carrying capacity of our CC Covers – depends on design and project requirements! Covers with an 800 mm clear width can carry a maximum load of 50 kN. A higher load must be advised against, since the diagram curve is no longer linear, which is an indication for the possible failure of the specimen. The load carrying capacity of CC Covers with a clear width of 1,000 mm amounts to a maximum of 30 kN. Failure 9 Load carrying capacity of our CC Covers – depends on design and project requirements! After discontinuation of loading in the elastic area the cover immediately resumes its original shape. Easy installation – even in complex trapezoid, curve, and corner design! During installation, please note the following information and reference values. Significance of thermal expansion The thermal expansion of the covers needs to be considered during installation. Depending on the temperature and season, expansion can amount to approximately 1.5 to 2 %. The gap width should be 5 mm. 11 Mounting of the anti-shift gibs Two 39 x 50 x 25 mm (L x W x H) antishift gibs are fastened to the CC Cover by means of 2 stainless steel screws. To guarantee optimum guidance and safety of the covers on the cable conduit, a distance of 5.0 to 7.5 mm needs to be maintained between the conduit inside wall and the respective anti-shift gib. Distance of 5.0 to 7.5 mm between wall and gib Easy installation – even in complex trapezoid, curve, and corner design! Working the fitting plates For trapezoid, curve and corner designs we recommend the use of so-called fitting plates. These feature two specialties compared to other CC Covers. On their longitudinal sides they have a rebate and no inlaid reinforcements to facilitate mechanical treatment. 12 The desired shape of the fitting plate saw blade the plates can be cut without is marked. For reasons of occupational safety Easy installation – even in complex trapezoid, curve, and corner design! Substructure On request, we design removable substructures with hot galvanised steel profiles in the dimensions 50 x 50 x 4 mm x required length for a barrier-free drawing of cables. Depending on the project or cable duct, the substructure may be welded and anchored to the inside duct walls by means of angle brackets. The steel profiles rest on adjustable and/or ninety-degree brackets. Example of a substructure 13 Left: 90°-bracket Right: Adjustable angle bracket Marking the covers After removal of the covers, marking facilitates a quick reinstallation, especially when dealing with varying trapezoid elements. Marked CC Covers serve as points of reference. Depending on customer request, the covers can be equipped with paint marks, different colour plastic discs with or without fixation. Our boards are excellently suited for the protection of underground cables and pipes. On account of their application in underground, pipeline, and road construction, mechanical damage to cables, conduits, and pipes during backfill or subsequent earthwork is prevented or minimised. 15 The grey Cable Protection Boards in the dimensions L x W x H: 1,050 x 200 x 50 mm are easy to transport due to their low weight of about 7.2 kg and can be worked on with standard tools (drilling, sawing, screwing, nailing).
