The Felici Piano Trio & 18 Distinguished Guests July 13 - 29 2016 In “Bass Camp”, Oscar Hidalgo’s velvety low frequencies supply a sonorous cushion to works by the fiery lady composer Louise Farrenc and the cheerful Czech, Antonin Dvořák. Crossing “T he River Wild ” is a foray into Romantic chamber music of untamed intensity by Tchaikovsky and Dohnanyi. Tedeschi’s gently cascading Suite, in the delicate hands of harpist Kyunghee Kim-Sutre, smoothes the torrents… “Roughing It ”features two delightful string octets by Dmitry Shostakovich and Joachim Raff. Avid hiker Johannes Brahms expresses his love for the Alpine regions in his Cello Sonata, passionately interpreted by Mark Kosower and Jee-Won Oh. We will say good-bye on Friday, July 29th, with “Sunset Songs”, a program of some of the best classical music has to offer, with Igor Stravinsky’s charming Suite Italienne, Beethoven’s String Trio opus 9, and Dvořák’s immortal Piano Quintet.
