was created in 2003 with an aim to
challenge the strait-laced, minimalistic, even-tempered, somewhat
uncoloured and uniform swing of that time. Simply put, we wanted
to add some heat to the Scandinavian cool. Using wild exotic
materials, natural craftsmanship, skilled artisans and superior
quality, we aimed to unleash raw beauty, true cosmopolitan dynamics and spark off a touch of southern zest. All the way up to the
frozen, functionalistic North. Bringing a new level of personality and
passion to the everyday life. Rewarding the brave and the glamorous.
Today, a decade later, Kamelo has established itself as an extra
vagant, ardent and very special premium brand in the interior &
home ware sector. Based on our native legacy, we have developed
a unique style and standing in a world of our own, best described

in the first, glimmering years of the 21th Century, Suzanne Hernestig
had a flourishing career going on for her in Silicon Valley.
But a luxury weekend trip to the fashionable Cape Town in
South Africa, changed everything.

For the beautiful, blonde, spirited, passionate and
very much loved and adored Swede, the road to
success was as straight as it was natural. She alternated between the extremely demanding work as an
Executive in the IT security industry, working with
partners and key customers like IBM and all major
Nordic banks, and an equally action-packed leisure
time as a professional adventurer, based in Chamonix
in France and Hemsedal in Norway. And with a
number of tough expeditions in her CV (including
Aconcagua, Argentina, 6960 m - one of the
mountains of the ” Seven Summits ”), she began to
plan for the ultimate one, Everest.
But 10 years ago, her life suddenly took an un
expected turn. During a brief visit in Cape Town
with good friends, she was invited to visit a family in
Khayelitsha, one of South Africa’s notorious
shantytowns. This became a strong, unforgettable
and life changing experience. Where others only
saw suffering and hopelessness, Suzanne saw hope
and new opportunities.
This particular family ran a small business based
on natural materials and strong traditions within the
local arts and crafts. The products themselves were
not particularly interesting, but two things caught
Suzanne’s attention. For one, the business was
completely ran, directed and developed by women,
a fascinating and inspiring fact for a 35-year-old
Executive in a totally male-dominated industry.
And secondly, every employee in the business could
support up to ten other people in the large surrounding community. These circumstances filled Suzanne
with hope and prosperity in the otherwise dark and

dangerous neighborhood deep down in the shadows
of the glittering metropolis.
Suzanne Hernestig fell in love. Instantly and
unconditionally. In the stunning natural materials,
in the ancient craftsmanship, in the amazing quality.
But more than anything, in the strong women, and
in the pride that no one could take away from these
families, despite their scarse living conditions.
And there, on the spot, Kamelo was born. As a link
between the hot and dark South Africa, and the cool
and light Scandinavia. Suzanne wrote a full business plan on the plane home. And the moment she
sat her feet down on Swedish soil, her phone never
stopped ringing. She activated her entire network
and mobilized all her resources. And just a month
later, she was back in South Africa, visiting the same
family. But this time, she brought an initial order of
fashionable interior products. Since then, her orders
have grown exponentially, and Suzanne’s sudden act
of inspiration today provides for over 1.000 people all
over South Africa.
Today Kamelo is a well established and highly
regarded lifestyle brand in the fields of interior
design and fashion. South Africa is still an important
part of the company, and the brand DNA, and
Suzanne is still trying to keep up with her commitments to ”Star for Life”, ”Chiparamba” and their
charity events, where both the Queen Silvia of
Sweden and the Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden,
are participating. And the South African Ambassador
still makes spontaneous visits to Kamelo´s
Showroom on Grevgatan 19 in Stockholm.
But Kamelo is constantly growing, and conducts
production all over the world. And since the
beautiful beginning in Cape Town, Kamelo has
developed into an international interior design and
fashion brand. Operating in the high, international
premium class, combining Scandinavian quality
and grace with a more southern spirit, courage and
temper. And the company’s icon products include
lamp shades in feathers from wild african goose,
ostrich, pheasant and guinea fowl. Pillows and
handbags in Springbok fur. And blankets and scarves
of the finest baby mohair and silk. Available in over
500 selected stores across the Nordic region.
Kamelo is also represented in a number of public
places and have decorated anything from hotels, restaurants and shops to private villas, apartments and estates.
Suzanne and her interior design team have performed
events, galas and book projects . And most recently, a
broadcast TV studio, after receiving a personal invitation from TV4, where Kamelo, for over two weeks, were
given a carte blanche for decorating Malou von
Sivers studio for the TV show ”Efter Tio”. A project that
turned out to be a huge success for everybody involved.
From its Showroom at Grevgatan 19 in Stockholm,
Kamelo International AB develops and refines its
exclusive product portfolio and its inspirational collections, where last year’s theme was ”Celebration”,
naturally paying a tribute to the company´s 10th anniversary, but Kamelo also have a history of strong,
conceptual and very popular themes, like ”Safari”,
”Hunting Chic Lodge” and ”Crystal Summer”.
Just returned from Paris, Suzanne and Kamelo are
now looking forward to an unusually exciting spring
and fall 2014, as the great exhibition ”MAISON &
OBJET” has invited the company to a very flattering
collaboration, indicating an exclusive launch in Paris,
London , Barcelona and the really big markets out
there in Europe.

and all her natural materials. But more than anything, we’re devoted to one of nature’s most exquisite
creations, the beautiful plumes and quills from wild
birds. The long, soft, curling feathers drape elegantly
from the wings, body and tail of these magnificent
little creatures/beings. And the appearance of the
refined raw material is as sophisticated and stylish
as its origin is extravagant and exotic. And, as an
important element of our final products, and outcome of our endeavour, they do emit a wonderful
glow when lit.
All our lampshade feathers are beautifully hand
glued on to parchment paper or natural fabrics, and
our skilled artisans currently work with the unique
shapes, patterns and colours of Wild African Goose,
Guineafowl and Pheasant. As for the majestic
Ostrich, we are so amazed by these graceful giants,
and their most luxurious, full bodied plumage, with
strands of flowing feathers that come from the quill
outward, that we find sincere pleasure in using a variety of its gorgeous feathers in our exclusive selections
of plaids, pillows and throws.
There are different kinds of Ostrich feathers,
where drabs are the body feathers, not as full as the
wing feather or plumes. Drabs stand more upright
than wings and are suited for a more floral design.
The Ostrich wing feathers are the most dramatic
ones, often having that well known ”droop” near the
tip on a long plume. Wing feathers are only used by
committed feather fans, seeking glamour and excellence. We use them of course in our high fashion
designs and more avant-gardist arrangements.
Our feathers from Wild African Goose, Guineafowl and Pheasant are almost untouched by human
hands, and comes in their fully natural shades and
tones. Our Ostrich feathers start out naturally as
either a brownish female grey or a natural black male
feather, but are bleached and dyed, by hand, in our
small-scale, family based, local crafts centers using
traditional methods and given its full richness, intensity and verve in color to harmonize with the taste of
our clientele, and the flavours of the latest Kamelo
Collection.
Finally, it is our strong belief that a quality product
begins with quality ingredients. We source our raw
material carefully, and purchase all of our feathers
from selected local farmers and suppliers around
the world.
All harvesting of our wild birds is performed in
accordance with all national codes of ethics and
existing rules & regulations, and in close collaboration with the local authorities, such as the National
Departments of Wild Life Conservation and
Divisions of Nature and Game Management.

All our vendors are recognised by, registered with
and approved by the South African State Veterinarian Authority, D.E.A.T. (Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism), TOPS (Trade of Protected
Species) and The European Union TRACES (Trade
Control and Expert System). All relevant documentation, permits and certificates is supplied, forwarded,
validated and confirmed with every export shipment.
This is why we only work with species considered to
have an expanding population. This is why we only
work with species included in Wildlife Management
Programs. Where animal population control is
practiced in order to reduce the affects of the bio
diversity and the environment. Just like back home in
Scandinavia, where more than 80.000 Moose or Elks
is being culled anually, there is a risk of overbreading
for a number of species in the Wildlife Parks in Africa
as well. Our involvement in the local culture, society
and environment have given us an exceptional
position and standing. Granting us with an exclusive
network in the fields of sourcing and production.

made from the hair of the
Angora goat. A beautiful, luxurious, incredibly warm and
durable yarn. Today, South Africa is the largest mohair
producer in the world and it is one of the oldest textile
fibers in use today. It is highly durable and resilient. And
it is well known for its high luster and sheen, which has
given it its well earned nickname, ”The Diamond Fiber”.
And it is often found in fiber blends to add its precious
characteristics to a textile.
At Kamelo, quality is everything, and according to our
philosophy, there are no shortcuts to perfection. So we
have choosen not to use this magical diamond fiber in
the usual small quantities for various fibre blends (just
to be able to use the trademark and the strong impact of
the word mohair for marketing purposes). Instead we use
the highest mohair ratio possible, which according to our
experience, is 93%. For the remaining 7%, we use an elastic, synthetic polymer, which is necessary for binding the
fibers and create a strong and processable yarn, keeping
all the beautiful attributes of the pure wool intact.
But, there is even more to tell about our passion for
mohair. Not only do we use an almost 100% pure, premium grade of the world´s finest mohair, we also use the
exceptionally rare selection of baby mohair, the superior
shearings from the baby (kid) goats at the age of 6 and 12
months. This extremely fine coat is at its softest before
the goat matures and its hair becomes coarse. Kamelo
uses only the finest, kid mohair to deliver the unique, soft,
plush feel. This exceptional yarn is of course hand-dyed,
hand-loomed and hand-woven to meet the high standards
of our production and our range of unique products, such
as our blankets, throws and scarves.
Baby mohair is the natural choice for Kamelo. It provides light weight insulation in cold weather and is just
perfect for every season. Baby mohair easily absorbs and
releases moisture in hot weather, moving perspiration
away from the skin, making it very comfortable to wear.
Baby mohair does not conduct heat and provides good insulation, even when wet. Baby mohair’s smooth fibers can
be made into fabrics that have a cooling effect. It is lightweight and ideal for summer garments. Heavier woven
winter garments specially made for warmth are exceptionally lightweight. Baby mohair is naturally flame retardant
and easy to wash.
Our baby mohair products are cozy and sensual, never
scratchy. Baby mohair simply provides the highest comfort possible. It does not irritate the skin, even for people
who are sensitive. The fibers are extremely strong and
highly elastic, and resists wrinkling and drapes beautifully.
Baby mohair is also one of the most durable of animal
fibers and will last a lifetime. The exceptionally smooth
surface of the fiber results in a high reflectance quality.
Consequently mohair, and especially baby mohair, has the
ability to absorb clear, bright color with particularly brilliant luster. Baby mohair is the right choice. A stunning,

1. Definitions and Interpretation
In these Terms and Conditions:
“Kamelo” means Kamelo International AB;
“Customer” means the person (including a registered company or partnership) that
accepts a quotation or offer from Kamelo for the sale of the Goods or whose order
of Goods is accepted by Kamelo;
“Contract” means any contract between Kamelo and the Customer for the sale and
purchase of Goods;
“Goods” means any product (furniture, homeware, and/or accessories which
Kamelo is to supply in accordance with these Conditions.
2. Application of Terms
(a) Subject to any variation under Condition 2(b) the Contract shall be on these
Conditions to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions (including any terms
or conditions which the Customer purports to apply under any purchase order,
confirmation of order, specification or other document).
(b) These Conditions apply to all Kamelo’s sales and any variation to these
Conditions and any representations about the Goods shall not be binding unless
expressly agreed in writing by Kamelo. The Customer Acknowedges that it has not
relied on any statement, promise or representation made or given by or on behalf of
Kamelo which is not set out in the Contract. Nothing in this condition shall exclude
or limit Kamelo’s liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.
(c) Each order or acceptance of a quotation for Goods by the Customer from
Kamelo shall be deemed to be an offer by the Customer to purchase Goods subject to these Conditions.
(d) Any reference in these Conditions to any provision of a statute shall be construed as a reference to that provision as amended, re-enacted or extended at the
relevant time.
3. Orders
(a) Unless otherwise agreed, the prices applying to any orders will be the prices
valid at the time of despatch of the Goods. All prices are in SEK unless otherwise
stated. Kamelo will execute the orders (totally or partially) according to the availability of the Goods requested at that particular time.
(b) The Customer is responsible for ascertaining whether the Goods ordered are
suitable for and sufficient for its purpose.
4. Specification
(a) IIlustrations supplied by Kamelo or contained in Kamelo’s catalogues, price lists
and advertising material are by way of general description and are approximate
only and not binding on Kamelo in any way.
(b) It is Kamelo policy to develop and improve its products and accordingly Kamelo
reserves the right to change the specification of, or discontinue, any of the Goods
without prior notice.
(c) The Customer acknowledges that the patents, copyrights, trademarks, service
rights goodwill, reputation and any other rights (registered or unregistered) in or related to the Goods are and shall remain the property of Kamelo. Without prejudice
to the above, the Customer acknowledges and agrees that it shall not reproduce
any images, drawings, plans or specifications of or relating to the Goods without
Kamelo’s prior written consent.
5. Delivery
(a) The goods is delivered Free Warehouse Örebro and place for delivery shall be
Kamelo’s premises. The required amount of months, weeks or days at any given
time should be allowed for delivery of Goods. All delivery dates are estimates only
and the time of delivery shall not be of the essence.
(b) Kamelo shall not be liable for late delivery and delay in delivery shall in no case
entitle the Customer to cancel the order unless such cancellation is agreed by
Kamelo in writing.
(c) Kamelo may deliver the Goods by separate instalments. Each separate
instalment shall be invoiced and paid for in accordance with the provisions of the
Contract. No cancellation or termination of any one instalment shall entitle the
Customer to repudiate or cancel any other instalments.
(d) If for any reason the Customer fails to accept delivery of, or requests that Kamelo delays delivery of any of the Goods when they are ready for delivery: Kamelo will
charge the Customer with all costs involved, without limitation, including storage
and insurance.
6. Cancellation
The Customer may not cancel an order without the consent of Kamelo. Kamelo
reserves the right to refuse cancellations of orders (total or partial) in any cases. If
the Customer despite this, still need to cancel the order, Kamelo will charge 25%
of the cancelled order value. For customized, or non-stock products, Kamelo will
charge 50% of the cancelled order value.
7. Packing
Prices include packing unless otherwise stated. Orders must conform to the unit
per package figure, as indicated in the pricelist. If they do not, Kamelo reserves the
right to charge a supplementary fee in respect of the incomplete carton in order to
cover additional packaging costs. In any case where special packing is requested,
Kamelo may make an extra charge.
8. Title and Risk
(a) The Goods are at the risk of the Customer from the time the Goods are handed
over to the carrier. Article 5(d) of the present Terms and Conditions shall also apply.
(b) Notwithstanding delivery and passing of risk, the Goods shall remain the
property of Kamelo until all monies due from the Customer to Kamelo have been
paid in full.
9. Liability
(a) Subject to Condition 5 the following provisions set out the entire financial liability of Kamelo (including any liability for the acts or omissions of its employees,
agents and sub-contractors) to the Customer arising out of or in connection with
the Goods and/or these Conditions.
(b) All warranties, conditions and other terms implied by the law are, to the fullest
extent permitted by law, excluded from the Contract.
(c) Nothing in these Conditions excludes or limits the liability of Kamelo :
(i) for any matter which it would be illegal for Kamelo to exclude or attempt to
exclude its liability; or
(ii) for gross negligence or wilful misconduct pursuant.
(d) Subject to Condition 9(b) and Condition 9(c) Kamelo’s total liability in contract,
tort (including negligence or breach of statutory duty), misrepresentation, restitution or otherwise, arising in connection with the performance or contemplated
performance of the Contract shall be limited to the Contract price and Kamelo shall
not be liable to the Customer for:
(i) any pure economic loss, loss of profit, loss of business, depletion of goodwill or
otherwise, in each case whetherdirect, indirect or consequential, or any claims for
consequential compensation whatsoever (howsoever caused) which arise out of or
in connection with the Contract.
(ii) for defects in the Goods caused by fair wear and tear, abnormal or unsuitable
conditions of storage or use or any act, neglect or default of the Customer or of any
third party;
(iii) for other defects or vices in the Goods unless the Customer shall notify Kamelo
within 5 days of receipt of the Goods;
(iv) for death or personal injury of the Customer and the Customer’s employees,
agents and sub-contractors; (v) for any damage (including death or personal injury)
suffered by the Costumer’s clients arising out of or in connection with the Goods.
(e) Upon the Customer receiving the Goods, the number of the cartons is to be
checked against the number stated on the delivery note. Any possible shortage or
damage to any carton must be notified on the delivery note.
(f) Claims falling within the criteria set out in this Condition 9 will only be considered upon receipt of a written explanation from the Customer, setting out full
details of the claim, including the relevant invoice number as issued byKamelo in
respect of the Goods.
10. Return of Goods
Return of Goods will be accepted only with Kamelo’s written consent. A 25%
charge (50% for customized or non-stock orders) may apply to unauthorized
returns.
11. Payment
(a) Payment terms shall be as specified by Kamelo from time to time.
(b) Time for payment of any sums due under the Contract shall be of the essence.
(c) Without prejudice to Condition 11(b), in the event of any delay in payment
Kamelo shall be entitled to charge interest on any outstanding balance at the rate
of 24% per annum above the base rate of such reputable bank as Kamelo may
from time to time nominate.
(d) Kamelo reserves the right to suspend the provision of Goods to the Customer
where any amounts are overdue under, or the Customer is in breach of, any contract between Kamelo and the Customer, until all such amounts have been paid in
full.
(e) The Customer shall not be entitled by reason of any set-off, counterclaim,
abatement or analogous Deduction to withhold payment of any amount due to
Kamelo, without prior written consent from Kamelo.
12. General
(a) Each right or remedy of Kamelo under the Contract is without prejudice to any
other right or remedy Kamelo may have, whether under the Contract or not.
(b) Kamelo shall not be regarded as in breach of the Contract to the extent that it is
prevented from or hindered in fulfilling its obligations by any circumstances outside
its reasonable control (such as: any act of God, war, riot, strike, lock-out, governmental control or regulation, abnormal weather conditions, accident or breakdown)
provided that Kamelo shall have given written notice to the Customer of such
circumstances within a reasonable time after learning of them.
(c) If any provision of the Contract is found by any court, tribunal or administrative
body of competent jurisdiction to be wholly or partly illegal, invalid, void, voidable,
unenforceable or unreasonable it shall to the extent of such illegality, invalidity,
voidness, voidability, unenforceability or unreasonableness be deemed severable
and the remaining provisions of the Contract and the remainder of such provision
shall continue in full force and effect. (d) Failure or delay by Kamelo in enforcing or
partially enforcing any provision of the Contract shall not be construed as a waiver
of any of its rights under the Contract and any waiver by Kamelo of any breach
of, or any default under, any provision of the Contract by the Customer shall not be
deemed a waiver of any subsequent breach or default and shall in no way affect the
other terms of the Contract.
(e) The parties to the Contract do not intend that any term of the Contract shall be
enforceable by any person that is not a party to it.
(f) This Contract shall be governed by Swedish law.
(g) Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Contract and/or the present
Terms and Conditions shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the District
Court of Stockholm, Sweden (Stockholms Tingsrätt).
