COMMUNITY COMPETITION
ADULT
DIVISION D - 19 AND OLDER
PLEASE NOTE – NO ENTRIES REQUIRING REFRIGERATION WILL BE ACCEPTED

Arena.

All non-perishable Tuesday, August 30th, 2016 from 1-7PM
All Floral, Garden and Culinary, and all other entries Wednesday, August 31,2016 from 1-6PM
PICKUP FOR ALL ENTRIES
Monday, Sept.5, 2016 from 1-5PM. Entry receipt is required for pickup.
JUDGING
Judging will take place on Wednesday after all entries are received. All decisions are final.

Unless otherwise noted, one entry per person per division or class
CLASS:
1.
BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY
Each entry framed and ready to be hanged. Place name on back of your work. All photographs to be no
larger than 8 ½” x 11”.
2.
COLOR PHOTOGRAPHY
Each entry framed and ready to hang. If you have multiple images special effects or computer
manipulated images, these are all acceptable entries. Place name on back of your work. All photographs
to be no larger than 8 ½” x 11”.
3.
IPhone or SmartPhone Photography
Each entry should be framed and ready to hang, no bigger than 8 ½” x 11”.
4.
DRAWINGS AND PAINTINGS
Must be hand drawn or painted in pen, pencil, oils, acrylics, water colors or pastels. Must be framed and
ready to hang, with names on back of your work. No larger than 16” x 20”.
5.
WOODWORKING/ LEATHERWORK/METALWORK
Nothing larger than equivalent of 12' X 12” x 12”, can be hanging or free standing.
6.
SCRAPBOOKS AND CARDS
Can be a single page of scrapbook or album, a decorated album or scrapbook,digital-hybrid or cards

JEWELRY
Entry can be a necklace and earring set or a bracelet and necklace set.

CULINARY ARTS
6 cookies, 3-6 cupcakes or 1 cake or pie, recipe submitted with entry, on 7-9” paper plate with plastic
Wrap on or in sealable plastic bags.

SEWING NEEDLEWORK CROCHETING KNITTING
Must have finished seams on sewing work. Items need to be labeled somewhere with exhibitors name.

POTTERY AND CERAMICS
1 item per adult.
11.
PRESERVED FOODS/CANNED FOODS
Jams, Jellies, Preserves, Pickles, Relish, BBQ sauce all in 6-8 ounce jars, labeled as to what they are.
You must use either water bath method or pressure canned method. On label, tell what item is, what
method was used and processing time. Place your name on bottom of jar. No paraffin seals. Use mason
jars for this division. Leave headspace in jar of ¼ inch.
12.
FLORAL
2 classes, exhibitor’s choice specify theme, and old time country bouquet or nosegay. No artificial
flowers or foliage, or fresh fruits or vegetables in the floral arrangements. Entry size maximum is
2’ x 2’ x 4’ (length x width x height).
13. VEGETABLES
Do not enter anything with disease on it. Do not wax fruit or vegetables. Pie tins will be provided by the fair
committee for produce, however if you want to bring your own, please mark it with your name. Fair committee
will not be responsible for any containers that are brought by exhibitors, and get broken or damaged, or lost.

COMMUNITY COMPETITION
YOUTH
DIVISION A - AGES 3-6*
DIVISION B - AGES 7-12
DIVISION C – AGES 13-18
*BLUE RIBBON CATEGORY THIS YEAR
All youth in Division A (ages 3-6) can make a cow head on a paper plate and decorate it any way they want to. We will
attach those plates to sticks to put into straw bales for display. The cow heads can be colored or they can be made by
cutting out parts and pasting them on the plates. Imagination is encouraged!

WOODWORKING/ LEATHERWORK/ METALWORK- 1 entry per youth no larger than
12”x12”x12”, can be hanging or free standing.

CREATIVE WRITING – SHORT STORY OR POEM
1 entry per youth, typed and double spaced on 8 ½ x 11” paper, no longer than 3 pages in length.

JEWELRY
Entry can be a necklace and earring set, or bracelet and necklace set, or individual pieces.

CULINARY ARTS
3 to 6 items cookies or cupcakes per entry, placed on 7” to 9” paper plate, covered with plastic
wrap or in sealable plastic bag. Index card with recipe needs to be turned in with entry form. 1
cake or pie per entry on paper plate wrapped with plastic wrap, with recipe.

BLUE RIBBON CATEGORY THIS YEAR
All children from ages of 3-7 can make a cow head on a paper plate,
and decorate it anyway they want to. We will attach those plates to
