co ntaminatio n. Cur r ent p r imary assignment is d evelo p ing p ermits, rules &
p o licy fo r envir o nmental r egulatio n o f large animal farms (i.e. d airies with
7 0 0 + co ws, far ms with 2 5 0 0 + p igs, 3 0 ,0 0 0 + chickens, 1 0 0 0 + b eef cattle, etc.)
also kno wn as CAFOs ( co ncentrated animal feed ing o p eratio ns). T his is a
highly co ntr o ver sial issue with much p ub lic, ind ustry, enviro nmental gro up and
p o litical invo lvement.

Co mmittee. T he Co mmittee stud ies issues related to flo o d ing in the Huro n
River and Or e Lake. T he co mmittee has imp lemented an annual river clean up
d ay and co nd ucted weed harvesting to imp ro ve flo w in the river.
2004 – 2008: Hamb ur g T o wnship rep resentative o n the Livingsto n Co mmunity
W ater Autho r ity. T he Autho rity is resp o nsib le fo r management o f a three
