Some background
Docmate Services Ltd (Docmates) was set up in 1999, by two friends, Chris and Jim; to meet a need
for technical documentation and business services in the Grampian Area. Since then, business has
been steady and constant with the client base gradually growing to encompass a wider range of
industries and clients throughout the UK, with several repeat clients using the company. In 2001, Jim
decided to pursue his interest in travel thus causing the emphasis to change to concentrate entirely
on technical documentation. Jim still gives time from afar, by providing business advice to the
company as and when required. This year, the company is starting several initiatives to increase their
visibility, growing the client base, putting in place HES polices and producing and introducing a formal
quality process; all intended to improve the service we provide and the products we produce.
