Friday Morning Meet & Greet – An event
designed to encourage Chamber member
networking in an informal setting. Meet & Greet is
held at area Chamber businesses on the 2nd Friday
of the month from 7:30 – 9:00 am.
Heart of the Community – Annual awards dinner
that recognizes Chamber members, local citizens,
and civic leaders.
Monthly Meetings – Meetings are held on the
third Thursday of each month. Meeting times rotate
between breakfast and lunch and include a speaker
who will present information pertinent to you and
your business.
Evening Mixers – Hosted the last Wednesday of
January, April, July, and October at a local bar/
restaurant. Highlights an area non-profit while
offering business professionals the opportunity to
meet and make contacts.

E-mail Blast – The Chamber will send your
announcement to over 350 members and
community residents via email.
Guide and Directory – The Chamber produces
a directory which lists the entire membership, by
business category, including an alphabetical index.
Over 13,000 copies of the directory are distributed
to business and home owners in the 63119 zip code.
Advertising limited to Chamber members only.
Membership Mailings – All members are entitled
to purchase mailing labels or the Chamber mailing
list.
The Chamber Chronicle – This monthly
newsletter, shares information about Chamber
activities. It highlights new members, recognizes
the achievements of current members and keeps
the entire membership up-to-date on Chamber
meetings and events.
Web Site – The Chamber is accessible on the Internet
through www.webstershrewsburychamber.com.
Free business listings and links are included
in membership, as well as paid advertising
opportunities throughout the site.
Trivia Night – A fun night out with friends and
workmates, promote your business and compete for
prizes.
Golf Tournament – Held in September, this
excellent day on the links combines networking,
prizes and a four person scramble.
Community Business Expo – This annual expo
offers members the opportunity to showcase their
goods and services. It is open to the general public
free of charge.

Ambassador Program – Chamber member
volunteers serve as “goodwill” ambassadors to local
businesses on behalf of the Chamber, welcoming
and mentoring new members.
Leads Groups - These are groups of business
professionals made up of anyone who has the desire
to form relationships with other Chamber members
for the purpose of exchanging client referrals and
leads.
Member-to-Member Discounts- Gives members
the opportunity to offer discounts to other member
businesses.
New Member Orientation – Meetings are held
each quarter to orient new members to Chamber
programs and activities. Each orientation will
include general information and will give new
members an opportunity to meet Chamber
Ambassadors and Board members.
Ribbon Cuttings – All members are invited to host
a ribbon cutting at no charge. The Chamber will
perform ribbon cuttings for grand openings, ground
breakings, and new locations.
Sponsorships – Members may sponsor events
and meetings throughout the year to promote their
business.

On behalf of the City of Shrewsbury and its residents, I would like to
welcome you to our community.
Shrewsbury is a full-service city that has been incorporated for
over 96 years. We protect our citizens with very professional
police and fire departments. We also have an excellent recreation
center as part of our City center, 50 acres of parks and a beautiful aquatic center for
our families and guests to enjoy.
Our commercial developments circle the perimeter of our City leaving the inner
residential area very calm and peaceful. Our commercial developments include
McKenzie Pointe Plaza, Kenrick Plaza and other businesses along Big Bend and
Watson Road.
Living in Shrewsbury really combines the best qualities of living in a small town with
the advantage of living within a large, metropolitan region. I am very proud to serve
as Mayor of Shrewsbury. The sense of community that prevails in our City makes it a
unique place to live and raise families. I invite everyone to stop by and visit a true city

Rock Hill is proud to be a member of the Webster Groves/
Shrewsbury Chamber of Commerce and we are excited to share
all that Rock Hill has to offer with our neighboring communities. It is important to continue the tradition of supporting locally
owned businesses in our city as well as in Webster Groves and Shrewsbury. While
maintaining this support, Rock Hill is very excited to have welcomed many new
businesses that have recently joined our community. Within our neighborhoods we

AREAS OF PRACTICE
My practice centers upon problem solving in the areas of estate planning (i.e.,
Wills, powers of attorney, Living Wills, trusts, gift planning), probate administration (i.e., addressing issues associated with an individual's legal disability or
death), fringe benefit and tax issues (i.e., retirement, medical and incentive plans
and their administration and distributions), general business and owner representation (i.e., formation of the business entity, tax planning, agreements among
owners, employment agreements, non-compete arrangements and operational
issues, franchise arrangements and related matters), mergers, buying and selling
businesses, real estate (i.e., residential and commercial sale contracts and leases),
employment issues as well as contractual and internet matters.

through the streets
of Webster Groves —
the star attractions
of this year’s July
4 parade. Despite
an hour rain delay
and questions as
to whether the
Clydesdales could be
hitched-up on time,
the handlers worked
like a well-oiled
machine when the
rain finally broke,
and the parade came
off WITH a hitch.

Efforts On To Save Lindgate Pool

The fate of the Lindgate Manor
Swim Club, a private, neighborhood
pool enjoyed by Kirkwood and Des
Peres area families for more than 40
years, is in serious question.
Problems with the private pool
began in the fall of 2007, or perhaps
it was the spring of 2008, when the
company hired to manage the facility
“floated” the pool — literally popping
it out of the ground.
The pool’s deep end is now raised
about six inches above ground level.
As a result, the pool no longer holds
water, and water and pool chemicals
no longer circulate. Water must be
regularly added to maintain the pool’s
proper level.
“We talked to people about
repairing the pool, but every estimate
to repair the pool was about the same
as replacing it,” said Steve Brandt, a
member of the Lindgate Manor Swim
Club Board of Directors.
The bottom line, said Brandt, is
that the pool needs to be replaced
at a cost of about $350,000. The
swim club was awarded $110,000
in the insurance settlement, and
another $100,000 has been raised
through donations and fundraisers.
Still, another $130,000 is needed to

A bank loan would seem to be an
obvious lifesaver, but banks are not
coughing up loans given the current
economic environment.
“Banks could care less about our
long heritage. They want to know
about cash flows,” Brandt said.
Before loaning money, banks want
to see a strong membership. But with
the pool in disrepair, membership
is down and additional assessments
to members have had been made.

Williams kicked off her “Terri in 2010”
campaign at the Webster Groves July 4
parade with a float entry and more than
50 marching supporters. A Democrat,
Williams served as Webster Groves mayor from 1994-98.

mayor. Following her term, she served as
