Le Dauphin
Yacht – Le Dauphin
Aluminium Hulled Ketch
Designed by Alan Blackburn and launched in 1979. Substantially refurbished in 2001.
This is a round bilge yacht made entirely out of marine grade aluminium and specially designed
for cruising the Whitsundays. The aluminium was imported from France especially for this
yacht, it is still as good as when it was launched. To look at the yacht you would think it was
fibreglass.
The vessel has excellent sailing performance but was designed as a medium displacement
vessel rather than a lightweight racer. It would make an excellent offshore passage maker yet
is still ideal for island cruising with it’s lifting keel.
