New Security Inheritance Model
DM 5.3.x or prior security inheritance:
 All profiled objects in the DM library may have security that is applied to it.
 If a document is in a container (Folder, DV, RM Term, File, Filepart) with inherited
security, the security that is applied to the container is then applied to all
individual items within it
 If a change is made to the security of the container, that security change then
has to be propagated to all individual items which are inheriting it
eDOCS DM 10 security inheritance:
 The security that is applied to a parent container is still the same
 The items that are inheriting security from a container will now have a pointer
that uses the same security settings of the container
 If the security is changed for the container, the changes are no longer required to
be propagated to the items within it, since the pointer is already using the parent
container security
 If security inheritance is removed from an individual item in a container it goes
back to using the individual profile security for the item.
 In addition all unsecured items in a DM library will now point to a single security
setting of DOCS_USERS with all rights.
Performance improvements for inherited security environments
