PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE The Youth Achiever’s Program The Youth Achiever’s Program is a multicultural teen leadership program directed by Marvin Worthy and YMCA Youth Director Joshua Broshkevitch. This program is designed to prepare youth in 8 - 12 grade for post-secondary educational opportunities and their professional futures. College campus tours and mock interviews are just a couple of ways this program prepares these students for what comes next. On Sunday, April 26 the YMCA’s Achiever’s Program wrapped up another successful year of preparing high school students for the future with their annual Achiever’s Banquet. This banquet is organized by the Achievers and serves as another opportunity to prepare the students as it teaches them responsibility and how to plan a successful event. The Orchards Restaurant was very generous in allowing the Y to use their facility as a venue for this event. However, the generosity did not end there. The guest speaker for this banquet was Rob Davis, former Green Bay Packer and Shippensburg University star athlete and current Director of Player Development for the Green Bay Packers. Mr. Davis was generous enough to fly in from Green Bay to bestow upon the eighty five attendees his very inspiring and motivational words. The YMCA and Youth Achievers would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in making this banquet a success! To view the Achiever’s testimonial video, please click here.
