1) Seamless Integration of Medical Services
Raffles Medical Group is able to provide efficient and co-ordinated processes for our clients and
care for our patients across our medical facilities and they include the following:
a) Shared Patient Medical Data - Our patient’s information is electronically stored and can
be retrieved from any of our core clinics. This allows patients the flexibility of visiting any of
our RMG clinics of their choice and assured of the availability of their medical data
(including bio data, visit history, diagnosis and medication) for continuity of care.
b) Management of clients’ needs - RMG offers our clients the
benefit of scalability and responsiveness to their needs. Our
corporate clients can specify the number of clinics and the
range of services that are to be made available for their staff.
c) Fast & Efficient Specialist Referral Process - Referrals
made from our GP clinics to the specialists at Raffles Clinic
are quick and seamless. The specialist sees most referral
cases at the earliest possible time and the company saves on
man-hours costs.
d) Consolidated Billing for Corporate Clients – Our
consolidated bills are presented on a monthly basis to our

2) Convenience of a Island-wide Clinic Panel
RMG has 3 core clinics and a panel network of more than 200 clinics in Hong Kong, which provide
a comprehensive range of medical services. These clinics are distributed throughout the area and
strategically located in the Central, airport, near MTR stations, bus interchange terminals, regional
centres and residential neighbourhoods to serve clients and patients at their work places and
residences.
For the convenience of our patients, our airport clinic is open for consultation from 7:00am to
midnight, seven days a week.

Importance of Health Screening:
Health screenings are important for early detection of diseases or other possible health problems.
Any suspected problems should be reported to a health care provider immediately. Health
screening exams have played a principal role in preventive health care for a wide range of
common diseases and some that are not so common. Health screenings often are conducted
routinely as a preventive measure, or may be done when there is reason to suspect a particular
health problem exists.
It should be noted that there is not universal agreement as to which tests should be performed for
health screening and when they should be performed. Individual doctors and insurers may have
their own philosophies about health screening tests. At Raffles Medical, we aim to provide
screening packages tailored to individual corporate’s need.
With over 35 years of experience in the healthcare industry, we have established a set of
recommended screening tests depending on the age of the patient. (In addition, the frequency of
some health screenings depends on risk factors of the patient.)
For women between the ages of 20 and 39, the following screenings are recommended:
•
Pelvic exam: every year.
•
Pap test: every year until three satisfactory tests have been completed, and then at the
doctor's discretion.
•
Breast: at least every three years.
•
Skin: at least every three years.
For women between the ages of 40 and 49, the following health screenings are recommended:
•
Blood pressure: at least every two years
•
Cholesterol test: every five years
•
Skin exam: every year
•
Breast examination every year
•
Pelvic exam: every year
•
Pap test: every year (or at the doctor's discretion)
•
Mammography: every one to two years (depending on risk)
•
Fasting plasma glucose test: to check for the possibility of diabetes, every three years after
age 45
After age 50, women should have the following screenings:
•
Blood pressure: at least every two years
•
Cholesterol: every five years (or every three years starting at age 65)
•
Skin exam: every year
•
Breast exam: every year
•
Mammogram: every year
•
Fecal occult blood test: every year
•
Pelvic exam: every year
•
Pap test: yearly (or at the doctor's discretion)
•
Bone mineral density test: once as a baseline
•
Fasting plasma glucose test: for diabetes, every three years
•
Thyroid-stimulating hormone test: every 3-5 years starting at age 65
•
Colorectal cancer test: every five to ten years
For men between the ages of 20 and 39, the following screenings are recommended:
•
Blood pressure: at least every two years
•
Cholesterol: every five years
•
Skin exam: every three years
Men between the ages of 40 and 49 should have screenings for:
•
Blood pressure: at least every two years
•
Cholesterol: every five years
•
Skin exam: every year
•

Digital rectal exam: (to check for the possibility of prostate cancer) every year
•
Prostate specific antigen (PSA) test: every year
•
Fasting plasma glucose test: (for diabetes) every three years
•
Colorectal cancer test: every five to ten years
Screening for Common Cancer:
Colon Cancer:
Colon cancer is the second-leading killer of patients of both sexes and information gathered by the
National Cancer Institute shows the difficulty of moving patients from health screening into
preventive care. Identifying patients with colon cancer is urgent because it is much more difficult to
cure in the later stages. Screening by colonoscopy is recommended for patients above the age of
50, presented with positive family of Colon cancer or any ‘red flag’ symptoms
Prostate:
Screening for prostate cancer is more complicated that performing a test. Prostate cancer is the
second-leading cause of death of men in the United States and many physicians ask patients to
have a screening test with serum prostate-specific antigen (PSA). Even though prostate cancer
kills many men, it spreads slowly and an elderly man might actually be at greater risk of dying of
something else. Some of the common treatments for prostate cancer, such as surgery and
radiation, can cause incontinence, impotence, pain and emotional trauma.
Breast Cancer:
Breast cancer is the top cancer in women both in the developed and the developing world. The
incidence of breast cancer is increasing in the developing world due to increase life expectancy,
increase urbanization and adoption of western lifestyles. Early detection in order to improve breast
cancer outcome and survival remains the cornerstone of breast cancer control. Early detection
strategies are awareness of early signs and symptoms and screening by clinical breast
examination in demonstration areas. Mammography or ultrasound screening are recommended for
female patients over 40 years old or with a positive family history.
