Music Hive Revisited Indian Music Circle Acoustic Concert in FCAC’s Basement Theatre, 1990. Join us in celebrating 40 years of music at Footscray Community Arts Centre with the return of our much-loved Music Hive series. Curated by Duncan Foster. Presented by Footscray Community Arts Centre, in partnership with Western Suburbs Musician’s Cooperative. Jane Clifton and Quintet Jane Clifton Join acclaimed vocalist Jane Clifton and her quintet for an evening of the infectious, pumping and beautifully lyrical jazz and blues they are famous for. The program also includes a special premiere of Cracked, a new electro-acoustic/visual work by Duncan Foster, using manipulated sounds and images captured throughout a three month renovation/construction of the composer’s home street in Maidstone, and featuring saxophonist, Julien Wilson. Through an array of glorious compelling rhythms, blended instruments, drones and wonderful improvisations, Dya Singh’s music offers messages of acceptance, fulfilment and universal harmony. Vocalists Parvyn Kaur Singh (India), Thuy Kim (Vietnam), Claudia Osegueda (El Salvador) and Nabila Wahyuningtyas (Indonesia) are joined by Doug deVries, Michel Bestrin, Leo Dale, Paul Williamson, Khai Du and Musical Director Duncan Foster in innovative cross-genre arrangements highlighted by beautiful four-part vocal harmonies.
