Zrní
We are Zrní.
Gentle artbrut, coal Zen from Kladno. We enjoy discovering new possibilities
and combinations in music. To play, to be together in the musical landscape that we are the
creators of.
We like to explore, express and share our feelings. Most of our songs comes from joint
improvisation. We find inspiration in nature, its permanent principles, landscape, folk
music, but also in this hasty, electronic age that brings sounds of machinery, cars, towns,
specifically human feelings, situations and new musical opportunities. We sing in Czech.
We are a party of five men, playing together since 2001, still the same people. Through
music we want to show the desire of observation, fascination by ourselves, we want to take
life as a game and a great experience. Don´t give a shit about the outfit. “Zrní” are a game,
coal Zen from Kladno.
Reviews
They gave a feather-light, yet still very deep performance. All the band members were in perfect sync
with the audience and their nearly wordless communication made you feel like you are the only person

in the club enjoying the show. But in reality, the club was jam-packed.
Listening to Zrní’s new album, Následuj kojota (Follow the Coyote), is one big breathtaking adventure. On the first listen, you get ecstatic imagining what the next song will be like, what this Kladno
based band will come up with next. Every other listen reveals more sounds, ideas, tricks in rhythm
and arrangement, and hidden meanings and connections. Each of the twelve tracks is a flawless,
finely cut diamond, be it for the composition, arrangement, music, vocals, sound or lyrics.

For several years now, Zrní have been one of the finest Czech music acts. The new album, Následuj
kojota (Follow the Coyote), gives this statement a whole new dimension. We may very well expect
them to make an even bigger leap in the future and possibly to record their very own Kid A.

In 2015, for the first time in the history of the Colours of Ostrava festival, a special gig has been
arranged that will join on the stage the band Zrní, a three time Anděl Awards nominee, and at least
thirty members of the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra.
