HAIL DAMAGE
Even though hail damage is specifically excluded under the terms of this
Warranty, Norandex/Reynolds will replace Product damaged by hail to an
extent that such hail-damaged Product is not covered by your homeowner(s)
insurance policy or other applicable insurance coverage(s). Upon the
presentation of satisfactory evidence that such damage is not covered by
your insurance, Norandex/Reynolds will furnish you with like* replacement
Products in an amount equal to the quantity of Products damaged by hail.
All other costs of replacement of hail-damaged Products, including the cost
of labor, will be the homeowner’s responsibility. If hail has damaged your
siding, please follow instructions outlined in the Warranty section titled
“What you should do in the event of a defect”.

TRANSFER OF WARRANTY
This Warranty is transferable by you to subsequent owners of the Property;
provided, however, that Norandex/Reynolds receives written notice of the
transfer of title of the Property, accompanied by a Two Hundred and Fifty
Dollar ($250.00) transfer fee made payable to Norandex/Reynolds, within
thirty (30) days of the date that ownership is transferred; provided, further,
that this Warranty may be transferred only one time. Failure to so notify
Norandex/Reynolds and provide payment will relieve Norandex/Reynolds
of any further obligations under this Warranty. In the event you transfer this
Warranty, the Warranty period for manufacturing defects will be fifty (50)
years from the date of original installation, and the Warranty coverage for
manufacturing defects will be prorated as follows:

Your Norandex/Reynolds Continuum Seamless Steel Siding can put and end
to constant painting and time consuming, costly maintenance. However, just
like a freshly painted house, a brand new automobile, or any other product
exposed to the elements, it can accumulate dirt and stain and should be
properly maintained by periodic cleaning. In most cases, your steel siding
can be satisfactorily cleaned by an occasional rinse with an ordinary garden
hose and the use of a soft-bristled, long-handled car brush. For more difficult
areas, we suggest the following:
Where soil is particularly stubborn (as frequently found in industrial areas),
the following cleaning solution works well:
1/2 cup detergent (Tide, as example)
2/3 cup trisodium phosphate (Soilax, as an example)
1 gallon water
In certain geographical areas where mildew may be a problem (normally
appearing as black spots), substitute one quart of 5% solution sodium
hypochlorite (Clorox, for example) for one quart of water in the above
formula.
If your siding is extremely dirty, it is recommended that you begin washing
from the bottom and gradually go to the top, rinsing frequently. Cleaning
solutions should be permitted to stand on the surface of the siding for several
minutes before rinsing.
CAUTION: Stronger concentration of cleaners can damage the finish. Be sure
to carefully follow the manufacturer’s instructions when using cleaning
compounds and solutions. Rinse all surfaces thoroughly. Avoid vigorous
rubbing which can cause undesirable gloss in the finish of your steel siding.
Be very careful to avoid skin and eye contact with all cleaning solutions.

COVERAGE UNDER THIS WARRANTY
This Warranty is extended to you, the property owner(s) identified in this
Warranty Certificate (“Certificate”) by Norandex/Reynolds (“Norandex/Reynolds”).
Subject to the terms and conditions set forth in this Certificate, Norandex/Reynolds
warrants to you that the Norandex/Reynolds Continuum Seamless Steel Siding
(“Product”) formed from genuine Norandex/Reynolds Continuum PVC coated
Steel Coil (the “Coil”) and installed on the property identified in this Certificate
(the “Property”) will not blister, flake, chip, peel or rust as a direct result of any
manufacturing defects in the Coil, provided that the cleaning practices described in
the “Care and Maintenance” section of this Certificate have been followed. For the
purpose of this Warranty, the term “siding” includes all preformed siding accessories
that were installed on the Property in the same form as they were in when they were
originally sold by Norandex/Reynolds, but does not include any other siding accessories
or trim pieces that were formed, fabricated, or modified in any way at the Property, or
at any other time after being originally sold by Norandex/Reynolds.
This Warranty will remain in effect for so long as at least one of the property owners
identified in this Certificate is living and owns an interest in the Property; provided,
however, that all of the property owners are natural persons and the Product is installed
on a detached, single-family residence. Otherwise, this Warranty will remain in effect
for a period of fifty (50) years from the date the Product is originally installed. For
example, if this Warranty is transferred or if one or more of the property owners is not
a natural person (for example, if one or more of the property owners is a corporation,
unincorporated association, partnership, governmental agency, public agency, church or
school), or if the Product is installed on a building that is not a detached single-family
residence (for example, if the building is a condominium or duplex), the Warranty
period will be fifty (50) years from the date the Product was originally installed.
WHAT YOU SHOULD DO IN THE
EVENT OF A DEFECT
If you believe your siding exhibits a manufacturing defect covered by this Warranty,
simply write to Norandex/Reynolds, Warranty Department, 8450 South Bedford Road,
Macedonia, OH 44056, describing the defect and providing your name, phone number,
address, the date of installation, a copy of this Certificate and, if possible, a photograph
showing the defect, or an example of the defect that you have described. IN ORDER
TO QUALIFY FOR WARRANTY COVERAGE, YOU MUST PROVIDE NOTIFICATION, AS
DESCRIBED ABOVE, WITHIN SIXTY (60) DAYS OF THE DATE THE DEFECT IS FIRST
DISCOVERED OR REASONABLY COULD HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED.
Norandex/Reynolds will reply to you within a reasonable period of time after it receives
your claim. Norandex/Reynolds reserves the right to require proof-of-purchase and
other reasonable evidence to substantiate your claim. Norandex/Reynolds also reserves
the right to inspect the siding claimed to be defective, within a reasonable period of
time after it receives your written claim.
Additionally, Norandex/Reynolds warrants to the owner of the property on which the
siding is installed, that the siding after removal of foreign surface deposits will not
show a color change in excess of 5 Delta E units as a result of normal weathering
or ultraviolet exposure for a period of fifteen (15) years from the date of installation.
REMEDIES UNDER THIS WARRANTY
For any claimed manufacturing defect determined by Norandex/Reynolds to be
covered by this Warranty, Norandex/Reynolds, at its sole option, will either repair,
replace or refinish the defective Product in accordance with the following paragraph.
Norandex/Reynolds will pay all of the costs of repairing, replacing or refinishing
the defective part or portion of the Product without charge to you. In lieu of
repairing, replacing or refinishing the defective Product, Norandex/Reynolds
reserves the right to pay you the lesser of (1) an amount of cash equal to the
costs Norandex/Reynolds would incur were it to elect to repair, replace or
refinish the defective Product, including all applicable labor expenses or (2)
an amount of cash equal to, but not to exceed the purchase price paid for
the defective Product by the original purchaser of the Product, including
material and labor costs.
THE WARRANTY SET FORTH IN THIS CERTIFICATE IS THE ONLY WARRANTY
EXTENDED BY NORANDEX/REYNOLDS IN CONNECTION WITH THE PRODUCT
AND IS IN PLACE OF AND TO THE EXCLUSION OF ANY OTHER WARRANTY
WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ALL OF WHICH
ARE EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED. THE REMEDIES SET FORTH IN THIS CERTIFICATE
SHALL CONSTITUTE YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES, AND NORANDEX/REYNOLDS
SOLE LIABILITY FOR ANY BREACH OF THE WARRANTIES SET FORTH IN THIS
CERTIFICATE. NORANDEX/REYNOLDS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE OR RESPONSIBLE
TO YOU FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES FOR THE BREACH OF ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES
IN CONNECTION WITH THE PRODUCT. NO MODIFICATION OR CHANGE TO
THIS WARRANTY WILL BE EFFECTIVE UNLESS IT IS MADE IN A WRITTEN
DOCUMENT SIGNED BY AN OFFICER OF NORANDEX/REYNOLDS.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, so the above exclusion or limitation may not apply to you. This Warranty
gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which may vary
from state to state. The Warranty period for any repaired, refinished or replaced
Products will be the remaining unexpired portion of the original Warranty period
for the Product.
Since a color variance may occur between replacement or refinished Products in
comparison with the originally installed Product due to the normal weathering and
aging of the originally installed Product, this will not be indicative of a defect in
either the replacement or refinished Products or the originally installed Product,
and Norandex/Reynolds shall be obligated to refinish or replace only those
Products that actually are defective.
Norandex/Reynolds reserves the right to discontinue or modify any product
or product line. In the event that the original Product is no longer available,
Norandex/Reynolds may substitute a product that, by its sole determination,
is of comparable quality. Norandex/Reynolds also reserves the right to
discontinue particular colors. In the event your original product color is
no longer available, Norandex/Reynolds may substitute one of its currently
available colors.
Since Norandex/Reynolds Continuum Seamless Steel Siding is sold and installed
by independent dealers and contractors who are also owners of the equipment
necessary to form or fabricate the Product, the option to have the product formed
or fabricated on the job site may not always be available. In the event Norandex/
Reynolds elects to repair or replace Product determined to be defective under
the terms of this Warranty, Norandex/Reynolds also reserves the right to provide
like Product formed or fabricated in its own manufacturing facilities, which
product, for purposes of secure handling and transportation to the job site,
may not be able to be formed in original lengths.
Any costs or expenses beyond those expressly assumed by Norandex/Reynolds
under this Warranty shall be the responsibility of the Property owner(s).
CONDITIONS NOT COVERED BY
THIS WARRANTY
This Warranty covers only the particular defects described in this
Certificate and only if they arise during normal use and service. It
does not cover defects attributable to causes or occurrences beyond
the control of Norandex/Reynolds and unrelated to its own
manufacturing process, including, but not limited to failure of the
owner(s)/operator(s) to maintain and operate the equipment used to
form or fabricate the Product in strict adherence to the specifications
and guidelines provided by the equipment manufacturer, damage, or
deformation of siding incurred during, or as a result of the forming
or fabrication of the Product at the job site, faulty or improper
installation, normal weathering, exposure to corrosive atmospheres
(such as those containing sea salt, acid rain, chemicals or vapors),
mildew, unreasonable use, misuse, physical abuse, accidental damage,
vandalism, use of incompatible accessories, fire, flood, earthquake,
lighting, ice or windstorms, hail, or other acts of God, wind-borne
objects, building settlement or structural failures (including walls
and foundations), or the use of harmful cleaning compounds.
Your siding is not intended for use within one (1) mile of any body
of salt water, and therefore this Warranty will not apply to any siding
installed within one (1) mile of any body of salt water.
