Preparationsfor
installingthe
windowkit
Youmustventyourportableairconditionerwhenrunninginitcooling
mode.Yourunitincludesawindowexhaustkitthatcanbeusedto
venttheunitoutofawindow.
Beforeyoubegin,makesureyouhaveallthepartsnecessaryfor
installationandalocationispicked.
WindowKitPartsList:
Ifyouhavemultiplewindows,chooseonethatisnearanelectrical
outletthatwillbeabletoprovidesufficientpowertoyourunit.Seethe
powerrequirementslistedontheproductlabelprintedontheside,or
onthebackofyourportableairconditioner.
Yourwindowkitcanbeinstalledonahorizontalorverticalsliding
windowasshowninthefollowingpicturesandinstructions.Followthe
instructionsforwhichdesiredwindowkitinstallation.

Step1:Cutthefoamsealtotheproperlengthandattach
ittothewindowsill.
Step2:Attachthewindowsliderkittothewindowsill.
Adjustthelengthofthewindowsliderkitaccordingto
thewidthofthewindow.Shortentheadjustable
windowkitifthewidthofthewindowislessthan26.5
inches.Openthewindowsashandplacethewindow
sliderkitonthewindowsill.
Step3:Cutthefoamsealtotheproperlengthandattach
itonthetopofthewindowsliderkit.Closethewindow
sashsecurelyagainstthewindowsliderkit.
Step4:Finally,cutthefoamsealtoanappropriate
lengthandsealtheopengapbetweenthetopwindow
sashandouterwindowsash.

Step1:Cutthefoamsealtotheproperlengthandattach
ittothewindowframe.
Step2:Attachthewindowsliderkittothewindow
frame.Adjustthelengthofthewindowsliderkit
accordingtotheheightofthewindow.Shortenthe
adjustablewindowkitiftheheightofthewindowisless
than26.5inches.Openthewindowsashandplacethe
windowsliderkitonthewindowsillagainsttheframe
securely.
Step3:Cutthefoamsealtotheproperlengthandattach
itonthetopofthewindowsliderkit.Closethewindow
sashsecurelyagainstthewindowsliderkit.
Step4:Finally,cutthefoamsealtoanappropriate
lengthandsealtheopengapbetweenthetopwindow
sashandouterwindowsash.

Installationoftheexhausthose
Step 1: Attaching the oval adapter to the exhaust hose.
Extend the end of the exhaust hose and the thread the Window
Exhaust Adapter A (as listed in parts section). Turn the adapter
onto the hose clockwise until you cannot turn anymore and the
adapter is secure to the exhaust hose.
Step 2: Roll the unit towards the window kit you have installed
already.
Make sure to leave a space that is at least 20 inches from the wall.

Step 3: Connecting the exhaust hose to unit.
Align the slots on the hose adapter to the air outlet and slide
downward as pictured on the left.
Step 4: Connect oval adapter to the window kit.
Push the oval adapter through the window kit hole until it snaps in
place. After you have installed the exhaust hose and window kit,
you can plug in your portable air conditioner and power on.

Notesabouttheexhausthose
Yourportableairconditionerisdesignedtoexhaustcondensatewater
thatiscollectedfromtheair.Thiswater,ineithergaseousordroplet
form,willbeexpelledouttheexhaustportoftheunit.
Pleasetakethisintoaccountwhendecidinghowtoventit.
1.Theexhausthosesuppliedwiththeportableairconditionercanbe
extendeduptoapproximately48inches;howeverformaximum
efficiency,usetheshortestlengthpossible.
2.Trytopreventanykinksorbendsintheexhausthose.Kinksor
bendsmaytrapexhaustairwhichcanradiateheatintotheroomor
potentiallycausetheportableairconditionertooverheatandshut
itselfoff.
3.Theexhausthosesuppliedwiththeportableairconditionerhas
beenspecificallydesignedforthisairconditioner.Donotlengthenthe
hosebyaddingadditionalhosesorattachments.Donotreplaceitwith
anyotherhose.
Do not lengthen the
exhaust hose by adding
additional hoses or
attachments.
Warning:Longerhosesarenotrecommended.
Theexhausthosemustbeinstalledorremovedinaccordancewith
theusagemodes:
A:YoumustinstalltheexhausthoseiftheunitisinCoolingMode.
B:YoumustremovetheexhausthoseiftheunitisinFanModeor
Dehumidifymode.
NOTE:Theexhausthosemaybecompressedorextendedaccordingtoyourinstallationrequirements;
however,itisrecommendedtokeeptheexhausthoselengthataminimum.

DrainingtheUnit
Whentheportableairconditionerisincoolingmode,ordehumidify
mode,itwillremovemoisturefromtheair.Thecondensedwaterfromtheair
willbecollectedinaninternalreservoirandwillbeevaporatedand
exhaustedoutoftheexhausthose.However,inveryhumidconditions,the
internalreservoirmayfillcompletely.Thiscausestheairconditionertoturn
offtoavoidoverflowingtheinternalreservoir,thefanwillcontinueto
operate.
ContinuousDrain(picturedbelow):
Duringdehumidifyingmode,removetheupperdrainplugfromthebackof
theunit.Attacha¾”hosethatcanbelocallypurchasedtothecontinuous
drainoutlet.Connectthedrainhoseadaptertoendofhoseandplacethe
openendoftheadapterdirectlyoverthedrainarea.
ManualDrain(picturedbelow):
Duringcoolingmodetheoncethewaterlevelofthebottomtrayreaches
capacitytheunitwillbeepseveraltimesandthedigitaldisplayonthecontrol
panelwillread“P1”toindicatethewatermustbemanuallydrained.Carefully
movetheunittoadrainlocationandremovethebottomdrainplugand
connectthedrainhosetothedrainoutlet.Theportableairconditionerwill
nowdrainthroughthedrainhose.Pleasenotethatthisunithasnodrain
pump;allwaterwilldrainwithgravityonly,i.e.,only“downhill.”
Onceunitisfullydrainedreinstallthebottomdrainplugandrestartthe
machineuntilthe“P1”symboldisappears.Iftheerrorrepeatscallforservice.

CoolingOperation:PresstheMODEbuttonuntiltheCOOLindicator
lightcomeson.PresstheUPandDOWNarrowstoselectyourdesired
roomtemperature.PresstheFANbuttontochoosethefanspeed.
DryOperation(Dehumidify):PresstheMODEbuttonuntiltheDRY
indicatorlightcomeson.Underthismodeyoucannotselectafan
speedoradjustthetemperature.
AutoOperation:PresstheMODEbuttonuntiltheAUTOindicatorlight
comeson.WhentheairconditionerissetinAUTOmodeitwill
automaticallyselectcoolingorfandependingonwhattemperature
youhaveselectedandthecurrentambienttemperature.Underthis
modeyoucannotselectthefanspeed.
FanOperation:PresstheMODEbuttonuntiltheFANindicatorlight
comeson.PresstheFANbuttontochoosethefanspeed.The
temperaturecannotbeadjusted.
UsethePowerbuttontoturntheportableairconditioneronandoff.
Bydefaultwhenyoufirstusethepowerbutton,theunitwillbeginto
operateincoolingmode.Theunitwillrememberthelastused
mode/settingsifyoushutdownandrestart.
AutoǦRestart:Ifpowertotheunitisinterrupted,theairconditionerwill
restartitselfinitslastusedmode/settingsoncepowerisrestored.The
compressorwillrestartafter3minutes.

Theremotecontrolsensorreceivesinfraredsignalsgivenbythe

Whentheunitison,pressthetimerbuttontoinitiatetheAutoǦoffstop
program,theTIMEROFFindicatorlightwillilluminate.PresstheUPor
DOWNbuttontoselectthedesiredtime.PresstheTIMERbutton
againwithinfiveseconds,theAutoǦonstartprogramisinitiatedand
theTIMERONindicatorlightwillilluminate.PresstheUPorDOWN
buttontoselectthedesiredAutoǦonstarttime.
Whentheunitisoff,presstheTIMERbuttontoinitiatetheAutoǦon
startprogram,pressitagainwithinfivesecondsandtheAutoǦoffstop
programwillinitiate.
PressorholdtheUPorDOWNbuttontochangetheAutotimeby0.5
hourincrements,upto10hours,thenat1hourincrementsupto24
hours.Thecontrolwillcountdownthetimeremaininguntiltheunit
starts.Thesystemwillautomaticallyrevertbacktodisplaythe
previoustemperaturesettingifthereisnooperationinafivesecond
period.
SelecttoinitiatetheSLEEPoperation.Ontheremotethisfunctionis
labeledas“ECONOMY”.Pressthisbutton;thesettemperaturewill
increaseby1ºC/2ºFin30minutes.Thesettemperaturewillthen
increasebyanother1ºC/2ºFafteranadditional30minutes.Thisnew
temperaturewillbemaintainedfor7hoursbeforeitreturnstothe
originallyselectedtemperature.ThisendstheSLEEPmodeandthe
unitwillcontinuetooperateasoriginallyprogrammed.Thisfeatureis
onlyavailableinCOOLINGandAUTOmode.
Usedtoadjust(increasing/decreasing)temperaturesettings(1ºC/2ºF
increments)inarangeof17ºC(62ºF)to30ºC(88ºF)ortheTIMER
settinginarangeof1Ǧ24hrs.
ThecontrolpaneliscapableofdisplayingtemperatureinFahrenheitor
Celsius.Toconvertfromonetotheother,pressandholdtheUPand
DOWNbuttonsatthesametimefor3seconds.
PresstoselectthefanspeedintwospeedsǦLOW,MED,HIGHand
AUTO.Thefanspeedindicatorlightilluminatesunderdifferentfan
settings.
Yourportableairconditionercomeswitharemotecontrolthathas
identicalfunctionsasonyourcontrolpanelwithtwoadditions:
LOCKbutton(remotecontrolonly):Pressthisrecessedbuttontolock
allcurrentsettings,thecontrollerwillnotacceptanynewoperations
untiltheLOCKbuttonispressedagaintorelease.Alocksymbolwill
displayontheLEDdisplaytoindicatethisfunctionisactive.
RESETbutton(remotecontrolonly):Pressthisrecessedbuttonto
cancelallcurrentsettings,theunitwillreturntoinitialsettings.

Useasoftdryclothtowipethebodyclean.Ifnecessary,uselukewarm
watertodampenaclothtocleantheunit.
Useasoftbristlebrushtocleanbetweenthevents.
Carefullyuseavacuumcleanertocleanthecondensercoils.
Neveruseabrasivechemicals,volatilesubstances,gasoline,
detergents,chemicallytreatedcloths,orothercleaningsolventsthat
maydamagethecabinetexterior.
Neverspraywaterdirectlyontheunit.
TocleanthepreǦfilter,followthestepsbelow:
1)PowerofftheunitandremovethepreǦfilter.
2)Useavacuumcleanerortapthefilterlightlytoremoveloosedust
anddirt,thenrinsethoroughlyunderlukewarmrunningwater(below
104°F).Youmayuseamildsoapandwatersolutionifneeded.Allow
thepreǦfiltertoairdryinacoolandshadedplace.Drythoroughly
beforereinstalling.
CleanthepreǦfilterperiodically.Iftheunitisusedinadusty
environmentyoumayneedtocleanitonaweeklybasis.
Ifyouarenotgoingtobeusingtheunitforanextendedperiodof
