Mandate’s Mandate
For those of you who are reading our
brochure for the first time, please be
assured that each tour includes diverse
sightseeing, comfortable accommodation,
quality meals, a historic perspective and
is created to flow at a leisurely pace.
Our destinations are predominantly tours
of Western Canada and the Western U.S.
Our ongoing theme is “Discover Your Own
Backyard with Mandate Tours”. We are
pleased to have many repeat customers
and therefore offer numerous new tours
each year. We want to keep you coming
back to Mandate!
Each hotel, resort and inn is chosen for its
rating (3 ½ stars or better), location, unique
setting, on-site restaurants and amenities.
International Stage Lines, our coach
company of choice, has new 47 passenger
coaches for your continued comfort and
safety.
We would like to thank all those who
have travelled with us in 2009 and we look
forward to happy travels in 2010.
Mandate’s Special Features
Early Payment Discount
When full payment is received 75 days
prior to departure you will receive a 5% early
payment discount. (Not valid for Collette
Vacations tour)
Peace of Mind Plan
When choosing a Mandate tour it is
important to be aware of our Peace of Mind
Plan. Mandate’s plan is second to none in
the travel industry. A Mandate Peace of
Mind Plan guarantees a full refund of all trip
payments in the event of a cancellation for
any reason up to the day before the tour.
This excludes the cost of the plan fee itself.
During the course of a trip, if a passenger
has to return home due to illness or a
death in the immediate family, the plan fee
guarantees a refund of any unused portion
of the trip.
Home Pick-up & Drop-off Service
Our popular individual home pick-up and
drop-off service will continue to be offered
within the immediate Vancouver lower
mainland.
Mandate’s Gold Card Membership
Seven years ago we introduced Gold Card
membership to our customers who have
completed four or more overnight tours
in a calendar year. This membership has
been well received, with an average of 5%
of our tour registrations representing Gold
Card Members.
If you have qualified as a Gold Card
member in 2009, in December, you will
receive a 5% rebate cheque for all completed
tours. You will also qualify for an instant 5%
discount on all overnight tours booked in
2010. This discount will continue for every
calendar year that you continue to complete
four or more tours. Other benefits of Gold
Card membership includes:
● Give-aways and/or special offers as
they become available
● A personalized Gold Card name tag
● Room upgrades where available
Tour Activity Level
We use the walking symbol to reflect
the approximate tour activity level of each
tour however if you have any concerns
or questions, please enquire at the time
of registration when our staff will be very
happy to discuss the itinerary in more
depth.
Please note that any tour involving boats
(excluding ferries) has automatically been
categorized as Intermediate. This is because
tide and sea conditions can sometimes
make boarding and disembarking more
difficult and result in unstable, slippery
conditions on board.
EASY
You must be able to walk to and from
coach, hotels, venues & restaurants.
MODERATE
You should be able to climb stairs and
walk reasonable distances, possibly over
uneven ground or inclines and for this
reason these tours would not be suitable
for people requiring walkers.
INTERMEDIATE
You must be able to walk a kilometre
or more on uneven ground or extended
inclines.
Extreme cold and high altitudes will be
experienced on some tours.
Wherever boats (excluding ferries) are
involved and because of tide conditions,
you must be able to negotiate the possibility
of a steep ramp to gain access to the boat
or wharf.
It is recommended that persons requiring
assistance be accompanied by a companion
who is capable and totally responsible for
providing that assistance since Mandate
Tours cannot provide special individual
assistance to tour members with special
needs.
Proposed HST
We have included the proposed
HST for all Canadian tours commencing July 1 if the tax does not go through
we will gladly refund you the difference.
2010 PowerPoint

At Mandate Tours we pride
ourselves on our customer

interesting tours. This would
not be possible without the hard
work of our office staff.
Karla Reilander wears many hats

all the
components

home pickups and drop-
offs, to ensuring that your dietary needs
are met and much more. Karla also
assists in tour design and sales.
Barbara Wyatt, one of our newest
employees,
has the very
important job
of bookkeeper.
Among
her many
administrative
duties she
may be the gal that you speak to when
you call in to register. Barbara also
assists in tour design.
It’s Carol Skidmore’s voice that you will
hear most
often when
you call. She
handles most
of the tour
registrations
and one of
her strongest
attributes is her attention to detail, which
is a great asset when organizing the
many details pertaining to mailings,
brochure proofing and the like.
Melinda Burns is involved in tour design,
promotion,
sales,
marketing and
tour guiding.
She also
negotiates
with suppliers
and venues
to ensure
that every tour meets the standards you
have come to expect when booking with
Mandate.
George Burns’ role is to ensure that
everything
runs
smoothly.
