Remember the “mean kids” in your school? Well, they grew up and can still be mean! As a national
motivational speaker, I have heard countless stories of how people faced an endless stream of being bullied, threatened, beaten up and treated like they were less than human. As adults they face
discrimination in the work place, and society deems obese people as worthless. The hopelessness,
guilt and shame of being obese felt by many is heart-breaking. I am asking you to be a sponsor of
the Flab to Fabulous Pageant to help bring light to those who feel they are in darkness.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that medical costs associated with obesity were estimated at $147 billion; the medical costs for people who are obese were $1,429 higher than those of
normal weight. During the past 20 years, there has been a dramatic increase in obesity in the United
States and rates still remain high. More than one-third of U.S. adults (35.7%) and approximately
17% (or 12.5 million) of children and adolescents aged 2—19 years are obese.
Fabulous Foundation is not just about the lights, and glamour of a pageant. It’s about real people
and the celebration of their life and commitment to staying healthy. The Foundation offers health
education, events and workshops as tools to promote health in our community.
Contestants will learn public speaking skills, proper posing for professional photos and videos
geared toward sponsor appearances, print and commercial ads. They will also learn from fitness
experts, make-up professionals, style and modeling coaches. Contestants will work with weight
management counselors to help put a plan in place for continued health and vitality, giving them
the support and tools they need for self-esteem. The Flab to Fabulous Pageant will have a positive
impact on our economy by supporting and encouraging thousands to get healthy and stay fit.

The Flab to Fabulous Contest is for men and women, who have lost a minimum of 50 pounds. The competition is
designed to showcase the hard work and dedication it took for contestants to transform - from “Flab to Fabulous.”
This annual pageant not only gives individuals an avenue to celebrate their weight-loss success; the criterion associated with
each phase of the competition offers added tools for their weight-management journey.
There is neither a swimsuit nor a talent competition in the Flab to Fabulous contest because when we lose weight we
become more confident; however, many times with a great amount of weight loss our physical appearance may be less
appealing because of extra skin. If we entered a pageant or beauty contest and were ask to parade around in a bikini it
would wreak havoc on our self-esteem. With the Flab to Fabulous Contest there are no embarrassing moments.
There are two age categories: 21 to 39 and 40 up. The Fabulous Foundation will award nearly a quarter million dollars in
cash and prizes to the winners along with more than $50,000 in continuing education scholarships.
Contestants have the opportunity to improve their health, cultivate their public speaking skills, and enhance their personal
appearance. Contestants are NOT judged on body size. The competition is about their journey toward a healthier life.
Judging is based on a written essay, a series of audio and video essays, photography, personal interviews, runway presence,
and evening wear.

Pageant Week in Atlanta
Get ready for the weight loss event of the century. The Flab to Fabulous Pageant will bring all the glitz,
glamour, and excitement to Atlanta, Georgia from May 26 through June 2, 2013. Event sponsors will set
the stage for this event as the Master of Ceremony celebrates the contestants and showcases the sponsors.
The kickoff for pageant week will begin with a welcome reception on Sunday night honoring event sponsors, with a contestant meet and greet and entertainment by Jazz Artist “South Carolina Lady of Song”
Loretta Holloway.
Monday to Wednesday contestants will begin their quest for the crown; attend seminars hosted by event
sponsors, with an array of personal development professionals. They will be judged in personal interviews,
record video messages to state sponsors, rehearse for the pageant finals and have the time of their lives.
Thursday and Friday’s show will complete the semi-final rounds with a thrilling contestant journey toward
the finals. One-half of the Flab to Fabulous contestants with be showcased and judged each evening. The
entertainment for both nights will captivate the sponsors, audience and celebrate the contestants.
Every moment of pageant week comes together for the Saturday evening finals. The event sponsors VIP
section at the finals highlights their commitment to supporting the health and vitality of the Flab to Fabulous contestants and weight loss individuals worldwide.
Saturday night’s pageant finale creates beauty, an atmosphere of achievement, and elevates contestants, sponsors
and the audience to extraordinary levels. American Idol
winner Ruben Studdard will wow us with the elegance of
song and serenade the crowned Mr. and Ms. Fabulous.
As if that excitement weren’t enough! On Sunday, sixteen
individuals will be receiving cash and a sash. Contestants
voted for these sixteen sub-category winners for having
been a role model during pageant week.
Pageant week will prove to be a fabulous experience for
the contestants, one which they can only have with the
