Triple Glazing
Abbey Glass are specialised in bespoke
insulated sealed units. We produce double,
triple and even quadruple glazing.
We can address many issues using specialised
products in many combinations: Solar Control,
Thermal gain, Noise Pollution, Fire protection,
Super Low U Values which exceeds the
requirements of Passivhaus, Decorative Items
(Bevels, Leads, Stains, Ceramic or Screen
Printed Glass, bespoke Sandblast Designs) and
Slim Low Sight Line units for restoration work
or new timber windows in Listed Buildings.
We use the whole range of glass producers so
that we can offer our customers 'options'. We
use many types of spacer bar: Warmedge
spacer by Edgetech, Steel spacer for Fire
Rated products or Coloured Aluminium. We fill
our units with heavy inert gases including
argon and krypton.
For Structural Glazing we use only the best
silicone structural sealants.

Premierfon Lite.
Our units can include a pane of 'Self Clean'
glass by Pilkington or an 'Easy Clean' coating
by Ritec 'Clear Shield'. The Clear shield
coating is applied as part of our manufacturing
process, it not only cuts the cleaning time in
half, but it protects the unit, chemically
bonding with the glass, actually becoming part
of it. Clear shield fills in the crevices seen in all
flat glass under a microscope which can fill
with dirt and pollution over time causing
windows/roofs to become dull. It feels like a
teflon coating is water-impervious and keeps
your unit's sparkling.

Toughened/
Laminated
We supply Safety Laminate from 4.4mm
upwards whatever requirement you
have for your project. We also offer
specialist advice on what Safety glass
your project may require.
These Laminated products can be
used for Stairs, Balustrading, Flooring,
Roof Glazing, Screens, Canopies or
any project that requires a Safety
Glass that retains its structure and
provides containment.
We can also offer Curved/Bent
Toughened or Toughened Laminated
glass, Fire Rated Laminates with
Certification, Laminates with the whole
range of decorative effects using
sandblasting, Acid Etching, Decorative
Films and bespoke designs.
We are a supplier of specialised
Floor Glass which has
Non-slip test certification.

Balustrades
and Stairwells
Abbey Glass can supply and install a variety of
balustrade systems that can incorporate
frameless glazing in line with current building
legislation, these can be manufactured along
with Stainless Steel requirements and can be
supplied with curved glass.

Glazing
Abbey Glass are a developer/producer of Acoustic Specialist Sealed
Units. Our most popular specialised acoustic products are:
Triple Glazed Premierfon™ in 44mm
Double Glazed Premierfon Lite™ in 28mm
These products were developed in house and with the help
of Salford University's Acoustics Department. Working
closely with Architects and Whitbread we have developed
a product toolkit to help supply and install products
throughout a number of new and projected builds with
Premier Inn.
Our Acoustic Range is available in Timber, Aluminium
and PVC Frames, Test Results are available.
We are continuing to increase our line of Acoustic
Specialist Products through research and innovation
and if you have any acoustic problems that need
solving our team of experts are always on hand, we
offer advice on taylor made bespoke units to
address not just acoustic but factor in any additional
requirements you may have. We can tick more than
just the acoustic box. Our acoustic units can support
a super-low u value, Fire Safety, Solar Control or any
number of other issues that need addressing.

The staff at Abbey Glass have the
knowledge and experience to deal with all
of your Fire Glass requirements. We stock
many specifications in house so our
turnaround on cut sizes is exceedingly
quick. If you require advice on what
product would suit you best for your
application please call our team for advice
and quotations. We can also keep you up
to date with fire regulations regarding
glazing and fitting and can provide you
with the necessary certification.
By introducing fire glass into a double
glazed unit you can enhance the acoustic
rating up to as much as 46dB.

Curved Glass
Annealed Bending
Annealed Bends are made from raw
material which can be comprised of
float, Patterned, K, wired and self
cleaning glass.
The curve can be
manufactured by
applying heat to the
glass which softens
and adopts the
shape of the pre
made mould
which we
produce.
Laminate Bends
By applying an interlayer between two
pieces of glass we create a safety
glass. We can supply a range of
laminates including cast in place, PVB
and SGP.
Coloured or patterned glass can be
curved. Coloured laminates can also
be used to produce different effects.
Applications for laminate bends can
be used in shop fronts, doors,
screens, partitions and canopies, as
well as Double Glazed units.
Toughened Bends
Toughened or tempered curved glass
is produced from annealed glass
which is heated and then cooled
rapidly. This introduces stress into the
glass surface which strengthens the
glass. Once subject to impact or
stress, toughened glass breaks into
small blunt fragments, thus reducing
risk of injury.
Heat soak testing and heat
strengthened glasses are also
available.
