Celje is a pleasant town on the banks of
the Savinja River, surrounded by hills
and knolls. It boasts a rich natural and
cultural heritage, as well as a remarkable
history that reached its apogee in the late
Middle Ages under the rule of the dynasty
of the Counts of Celje. The memory of the
Counts is still very much present today,
for nobody, neither the locals nor the
visitors, can miss their mighty Old Castle
that reigns over the town from Castle Hill,

holidays in nature. Just 8 kilometres from
Celje town centre, you can hike up to
Celje Mountain Hut on well-tended trails,
go up the bicycle lane or take a drive, but
you can also drive there on a paved road.
Try a descent in the “bobcart” (wheeled
bobsleigh/bobsled), explore the forest
trails while the children enjoy the themed
playground dubbed “ECOTODDLERLAND”.

At Rogla, they know how to take
care of winter pleasures. Countless of happy customers can
attest to that, for they return to

snowmaking systems, the Resort
can provide skiing enjoyment
from late autumn to early spring.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
The growing popularity of
cross-country skiing is reflected
in the new polygon intended for
recreational skiers, the numerous schoolchildren who practice
cross-country skiing as part of
school field trips, and even for
world-class athletes.
The Rogla Cross-Country
Centre consists of tracks for
recreational and competition
cross-country skiing, and of a
start/finish arena. Having renovated and completed the system
of the existing trails, Rogla can
accommodate the most demanding international sporting
events. In the 2009/2010 season,
Rogla hosted its first competition for the Cross-Country
World Cup.
In order to make the most of
the snow, you do not need to
own skiing equipment, as the
Ski Rental Shop at Rogla will
equip you from head to toe.
The youngest guests will also
be taken care of at the skiing
kindergarten with a lot of playground equipment. Babysitting
is also possible upon previous
booking. And if you have a little competitive spirit, you can
always tackle the competition
course at “Mašin žaga”. For organised groups and companies,
the Rogla staff will be happy to
organise a skiing competition.

CELJSKA KOČA
The ski slopes at Celjska koča
(Celje Mountain Hut) cover over
4 hectares. The top of Tolsta
Hill, accessible by a modern ski
lift, sits 834 metres above sea
level. Celjska koča Ski Centre
uses a modern snowmaking system and the slopes are
equipped with a lighting system
enabling night skiing, which is
always fun. The Celjska koča I
and II ski lifts have the capacity
for 900 skiers per hour. In addition to the slopes for grown-ups,
there is also a children’s polygon with a 60-metre conveyor
belt lift. Celjska koča Ski Centre
was voted Slovenia’s best small
ski centre in the 2011/12 season.

JANINA
SKI SLOPE
Janina is the lowest lying ski
slope in Slovenia. It is situated in
Rogaška Slatina at the altitude
of just 362 m right behind Donat
Grand Hotel. The slope caters
well for beginners and advanced
skiers alike.
The length of the track is 400 m;
the difference in elevation is 112
m. The ski lift can service 640
skiers per hour. Vehicles can
be parked at the Janina MultiStorey Car Park.
