Signed Date of issue 7,‘5/69 ’ ,,N-7th May, 1969. 2 Certificate No 5/6A/7 Page 3 DESCRIPTION The pattern is a retail price-computing Gilbarco Salesmaker Single Dispensing Figure 1) and comprises the following the approval, housed in a sheet metal shown in Figures 2 and 3: flowmeter known as the Pump Model T337D (see components significant to cabinet and arranged as 1. Pump - power-driven with integral strainer positive displacement rotary vane and integral spring-loaded by-pass type valve. 2. Gas Separator with integral float chamber (Gilbarco T257-3) gas separation is achieved by reducing the velocity and changing the direction of flow of the liquid over a weir. The gas and a small proportion of the liquid is forced by pump pressure through an orifice to the float chamber from which the liquid returns to the suction side of the pump through a float-operated valve. The gas discharges past another float-operated valve through a pipe to the upper extremity of the hose nozzle holster where it is vented to atmosphere (see Figure 4). 3. Meter (Gilbarco T262G) - four-piston radial (see Figure 5). The meter is sealed by a wire passing through a hole drilled in a peg which fits through one of the holes in the rim of the calibrating wheel and into one or other of two drilled bosses in one of the cylinder covers, thence backwards through each of the adjacent holes in the rim of the wheel and finally through a hole drilled through the end of the calibTrating wheel spindle. 4. Computer indication maximum - Veeder-Root 3-wheel manual reset, with a maximum of 99; gallons, 99/11d total price and 5/11id price per gallon (see Figure 6). NOTE: The illustrations of the pattern and variants (except Figures 6 and 28) are of instruments in which the computers have been converted to decimal currency, as described in Certificate No 5/6A/16. 5. 7,‘5/69 Non-return valve with integral relief valve. Certificate No 5/6A/7 Page G. Sight 7. Hose - external length. 8. Nozzle 9. Dial face - on each side of the pattern behind a glazed window is a grey dial face with white markings carrying the notice “sight glass must be full before and after delivery” located as close as possible to, and with an arrow pointing at the sight glass. glass (Gilbarco (Gilbarco T261M) retractable T250-16) - full-flow $ inch bore, - manual type type (see Figure 7). up to 12 ft 6 in in (see Figures 8 and 9). In returning the pump-operating handle to the stop position, the motor is stopped and the interlock which prevents it from being restarted is engaged, when or before the radial edge of the shroud of the handle comes into line with the left-hand face of the hose nozzle support bracket (see Figure 10). An aide memoire indicating the pattern and its variants as Figure 58. 7/5/69 the compatibility with the variant of each component in assemblies is annexed 4 Certificate No 5/6A/7 SCHEDULE 1. 7/5/69 Page 5 OF VARIANTS In which two sets of the following components are assembled a single cabinet (see Figure 11) and known as the Gilbarco Salesmaker Dual Dispensing Pump Model T338: - as described in (a) Pump (b) Gas Separator - Gilbarco T257M (see Figure la), in which gas separation is achieved by reducing the velocity of the liquid discharging from the pump into a chamber where any gas rises in the chamber and, together with a small proportion of the liquid, is forced by pump pressure through a pipe to a float chamber.
