Step One: A Sleep Study
Evaluation by a Certified
Sleep Specialist
A comprehensive approach to all
sleep problems begins with a sleep
evaluation and consultation by
UBMD Sleep Physicians who are
specialists in their field. A course of
further evaluation or therapy will
be determined at that time.
Step Two: Sleep Results
A sleep study may be performed
to record your sleep stages and
respiratory pattern. The data from
this will be scored by a Registered
Sleep Technician and interpreted by
UBMD Sleep Physicians.
Our tips for a better night’s rest:
• Maintain a regular sleep and rise time
• Limit caffeine, nicotine and alcohol
• Limit naps during the day and keep at short
intervals
• Keep your room temperature cool
• Keep your room dark and quiet
• Avoid over the counter sleep aids
• Limit use of electronic devices in the bedroom
or dim settings
• Limit food intake before bed time
• Keep exercise light
