Established in 1971, The Living Room is a well-respected manufacturer and retailer of wooden
home furniture, modular kitchens, and office furniture. What started as an independent venture
with a handful of ‘imandar’ employees has mushroomed into a sizeable multi-city organization. Our
first retail store in Mahim continues as our iconic flagship store, supported by company run outlets
in Kandivali, Mulund, Vimannagar (Pune) and Panjim (Goa).
Our 2000 sq.mt automatic manufacturing unit is based in Tivim, Goa. Our experience in the
furniture industry has taught us that by keeping manufacturing in-house and NOT relying on cheap
imports or third party suppliers allows us to keep tight quality controls. In keeping with our motto:
“Quality, Comfort and Service matter” we maintain quality controls right from the raw material
stage.
The Indian furniture industry continues to have many small players from the un-organized sector.
The fragmented nature of the industry means no set industry standards or guidelines. Sadly this
has resulted in sub-standard product scoupled with no after sales service. For our founder this was
a troublesome thing, and it drove him to in still within the company high standards for both quality
and service. What does that mean? We only use ISI grade commercial ply. We maintain specific
thickness of ply depending on the product. We only use very high quality pre-laminated board; we
use branded hardware, to name a few. Why does it matter? Like it or not, furniture items are high
usage goods. On a daily basis they come under a lot of wear and tear. If raw materials are not high
quality, furniture starts looking worn and old very fast. So even though you may not notice
something at first glance, a month later it is too late.
Another huge benefit of in-house manufacturing is that we can take advantages of price savings
from bulk purchases and wastage reduction. These savings are directly passed on to YOU!

have a niche taste in furniture. We demand quality, comfort and high utility in our designs. Our
space-constraint urban lifestyles = sleek, non-bulky, modern designs. To that end we believe that
using our own domestic designers and karigars allows us to meet these requirements.
Customisation: All our products are made to order. We have tremendous capacity to customize our
products. For any of our designs we can customize size, polish colour, fabric etc.

storage accessible when the dining table is open. If needed, it also doubles as a Study Table.
