CLIMATE / DRESS CODE Indonesia, with its location stretching along the equator, has two seasons. The period from October to February is the rainy season when at least some rain falls each day, often in short, torrential busts. It rarely rains at all during the remaining months. Average daily temperatures range from 25 to 31 degrees Celsius (80 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit). Indonesia is rich in culture and has traditional clothings from 33 provinces. Traditional Javanese kebaya is mostly worn by locals for formal gathering. Daily clothes are casual clothes made from light cotton. National Monument 3. KOTA TUA Kota Tua, Jakarta is an area of Dutch colonization inheritance which was well-known as Batavia in the 17th century. At Kota Tua area, many old buildings with architecture style influenced by the Dutch or European architecture style, Chinese and even some of them with combination of Dutch and Chinese architecture. Some of the old buildings at Kota Tua area occupied as museums by the governor of DKI Jakarta. As a center of historical tourism object in Jakarta, Kota Tua is one of a very interesting places to visit. 4. NATIONAL MUSEUM The Museum was officially opened in 1868 and became known as Gedung Gajah (Elephant House) or Gedung Arca (House of Statues). It was called Gedung Gajah on account of the bronze elephant statue in the front yard donated by King Chulalongkorn from Thailand in 1871. It was also called Gedung Arca because a great variety of statues from different periods are on display in the house. Currently the Museum houses collections of 109,342 objects under the categories of prehistory, archaeology, ethnography, numismatics-heraldic, geography and historical relics. 5. NATIONAL MONUMENT (MONAS) The National Monument was built in 80 hectares park. It is a 137 metre tall monument, topped with a flame coated with 35 kilograms of gold.
