musical understanding. Your child will build
self-confidence by participating in activities
that encourage following directions, such
as singing, chanting, and basic movement.
We will sing and play with puppets, scarves,
parachutes, beanbags, non-pitched
percussion instruments, and much more.

three. Parents play a vital role in establishing
a child’s foundational musical experience;
Parents provide a good example, even if they
feel like they aren’t musical. For example,
parents should imitate the instructor’s
movements so the children can have another
positive influence model for them. Don’t be
afraid to jump around the room singing and
then stop to wiggle your toes! This class is
also a great opportunity for parents to see how
they can incorporate fun musical activities in
their every day play at home.

This class is designed for those that have
never used a machine before. Techniques
covered will be: threading a machine, winding

ADVANCED QUILTING
TECHNIQUES
FREE MOTION QUILTING
You will learn how to cut and piece half square
triangles and quarter square triangles. You
will cut the fabric and piece together a baby
quilt top. Once finished you will learn how to
baste a quilt sandwich and do straight-line
machine quilting. You will learn how to cut
and piece together a separate binding for a
great finished look. Supplies needed: sewing
machine, thread, 7 fat quarter pieces for quilt
top, baby sized quilt batting, 1 ½ yard backing
fabric, 1/3 yard binding fabric. Supplies not
required, but helpful: rotary cutter and mat,
6.5 inch square quilting ruler, ¼ inch seam
presser foot, and walking presser foot.
I will demonstrate how to do a simple free
motion meandering quilting pattern. If you
would like to gain hands on experience, you
will need a sewing machine equipped with a
darning presser foot. Bring scraps of fabric
and batting to practice on. This technique
requires a lot of practice and patience, but
looks so amazing when finished. Choose one
session.
