2nd Edition, 1st Quarter, 2015
2015 looks to be another exciting year at Whitestone. We
continue to expand the volume of freight we haul for our
current and new customers. This is all due to everyone's
hard work and attention to detail in their tasks. We continue to seek the best in the industry to operate, maintain and
dispatch the equipment.
Remember the customer is our 'boss' and delivering our
best efforts is always our goal. Let's all keep our focus on
what we can do to keep the 'boss' happy with our service
and we will all have a Happy New Year in 2015.

To be concerned for the well being of our employees and families,

Operating Managers' Spotlight
Dry Freight-Operations
Manager, Al Albritton
Operations would like to ask all
drivers to really keep a watch on
their fuel mileage. Also, drivers
should do a good pre trip before
leaving out each week.
As always, please do a good
inspection on trailers before you
pickup or drop a trailer. If you
find damage please report it
ASAP.
Thanks to everyone for their hard
work in the last Quarter of 2014.
Great job!
Meridian Terminal Manager,
Charles Felder
We hope everyone had a
wonderful and safe holiday
season. Here are a few items we
need your help with to begin the
year off right.
We're starting to see more of our
customers requiring the use of
seals on loads.
Please remember to document
seal numbers on bills and check
seals while on trip.
Also, remember to have
receiver/guard
sign seal intact once arriving at
receiver before breaking seal.
Reminder about Georgia Pacific
loads:
When going to different plants to
load, drivers are not to bob-tail
and must have a good current
inspection on trailer before
dropping trailer. Tandems are to
be slid to rear and trailers must
be clean and nails must be pulled
from trailer floor. Drivers are
required to wear hard sole shoes,
safety vest and safety glasses
while at any Georgia Pacific
locations: Monticello, MS,
Pennington, AL, Meridian, MS
and Zachery, LA
For our reefer drivers - we have
several customers requiring load
locks and a padlock for security
on their loads. Please try to
make plans to have these items in
advance, if possible. And, also
please do your best to
remember to ask for your load
locks back after unloading.
If you didn't know, the Meridian
Terminal has DEF along with
windshield washer fluid for your
convenience. And, you're always
welcome to stop by for a drink
and a slice of friendship bread
during business hours.
Thank you for all you do!
Let's Celebrate!

The new year has
started off really great.
Thanks to our many
outstanding drivers and
our customers we
continue to grow. We
are looking to add more

Reminder to our reefer
drivers: Always compare
the temperature on BOL
to Qualcomm to ensure
the trailer temperature
is set properly for that
specific load. Call the
customer if there is a
discrepency. After all
reefer deliveries, ensure
proper wash out is
reported to dispatch.
Alisa was in the
band,
playing flute,
piccalo and
colorguard.
Al was the sports
star, playing
quarterback for the
football team and
star baseball player.
Keep in mind that we
have a lot of recruiting
bonuses, and it's a great
way to make some extra
cash. If you would like
to know more, come ask
Jimmy or myself and we
would be glad to
answer any questions.
Alisa and Al went on
to work together
for many years, at
several trucking
companies.
God bless.

CHANGE IN FMCSA
REGULATIONS
EFFECTIVE
DECEMBER 18, 2014
NO DEFECT DVIRS:
The Federal Motor Carrier
Safety Administration has
rescinded a requirement that
property-carrying commercial
motor vehicle drivers submit,
and motor carriers retain,
driver vehicle inspection
reports when the driver has
neither found nor been made
aware of any vehicle defects or
deficiencies.
The final rule, effective Dec. 18,
2014, will eliminate a
burdensome daily paperwork
requirement and save the
trucking industry an estimated
$1.7 billion annually without
compromising safety, Transportation Secretary Anthony
Foxx said on Dec. 9.
DVIRs with defects that
are discovered by or reported
to the driver during his days
work must still be completed
and retained per regulations.
Page 5
REMINDER:
A DRIVER IS STILL
REQUIRED TO DO A PROPER
PRE TRIP INSPECTION AND
LOG IT AS ON DUTY, NOT
DRIVING.
IF A DRIVER FINDS A
VIOLATION ON THE TRUCK
OR TRAILER DURING THE
PRE TRIP INSPECTION OR
DURING HIS SHIFT, HE MUST
WRITE UP A DVIR AND
NOTIFY THE MAINTENANCE
DEPARTMENT. THE REPAIR
MUST BE MADE AT THE
FIRST AVAILABLE REPAIR
FACILITY WITHIN
APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS
OR 100 MILES, UNLESS IT IS
A SAFETY SENSITIVE ITEM,
THEN REPAIRS MUST BE
MADE IMMEDIATELY. IF
THE MAINTENANCE DEFECT
IS DISCOVERED ON
COMPANY PREMISES, THEN
TRUCK MUST BE PLACED
OUT OF SERVICE UNTIL
REPAIRS ARE SATISFIED.
Congratulations!!

COMMITMENT
TO SAFETY
Whitestone Transportation is
an ICC regulated common
and contract carrier of
motor freight. As such, it is
mandatory that we present
an image of professionalism
to the trucking industry,
regulatory agencies and the
motoring public. Each
person employed by
Whitestone Transportation
has a personal responsibility
to the company and to
himself to be professional in
all aspects of the company.
It is a policy of Whitestone
Transportation to employ
only those persons who
exhibit the qualities of a
professional employee. Only
by an understanding of what
is expected and working
together as a team can a
professional relationship
with one another be
achieved and maintained.
Whitestone Transportation
recognizes that our people
drive the business. As the
most critical resource,
employees will be
safeguarded through
training, provision of
appropriate work
surroundings, and
procedures that foster
protection of health and
safety. All work conducted,
our employees will take into
account the intent of this
policy. No duty, no matter
what its perceived result, will
be deemed more impoortant
than employee health and
safety.
Whitestone Transportation is
firmly committed to the
safety of our employees. We
will do everything possible
to prevent workplace
accidents and we are
committed to providing a
safe working environment
for all employees. We value
our employees not only as
employees, but also as
human beings critical to
Page 6
the success of their
families and our
company. Employees
are encouraged to
report any unsafe work
practices or safety
hazards encountered
on the job. All
accidents/incidents
(no matter how slight)
are to be immediately
reported to the
supervisor on duty. A
key factor in
implementing this
policy will be the strict
compliance to all
applicable federal,
state, local, and
company policies and
procedures. Failure to
comply with these
policies may result in
disciplinary actions.
Whitestone Transportation will make every
effort to provide a safe
and healthful workplace
that is free from any
recognized or known
hazards. The most
important element
in a successful
trucking operation is
safety. No load is so
important that any
driver would endanger
himself or any other
person.
Safety is ultimately the
responsibility of the
driver. No person has
the authority to
require a driver to
jeopardize himself,
others, the cargo or
the equipment. Any
time there is a doubt
concerning safety –
slow down, wait, or
stop. Proceed only
when it is safe to do
so. If a driver feels
intimidated by any
company employee to
perform his job in an
unsafe manner, he is
encouraged to report
the incident to the
safety department
immediately. The
matter will be fully
investigated and will
not be tolerated.
