The wind and water came and went, we remain.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Ike there are millions of people that are facing a difficult recovery process.
Many are struggling without the basic necessities of food, water and shelter. Radio Free Texas has
proven that it is a community that cares. In this spirit, the idea for Concert For The Coast was born.
Radio Free Texas has partnered with others in the Texas Music community to bring a multi city, multi
venue benefit event that will help bring much needed relief to the coastal communities and those that
call it home.
Members of the Radio Free Texas community had the opportunity to witness first hand the devastation
and destruction in several cities along the coast. As part of the Radio Free Texas Relief Team
weekend, a group of approximately 30 volunteers traveled from various locations in and around Texas
to help with a grassroots clean up effort. It was during this time that the reality of the need for this
benefit event became clear.
Concert For The Coast will be held on Oct. 26, 2008, statewide in 10 cities, 10 different venues with
over 100 artists coming together for one cause. Each event will offer both acoustic and full band
performances. All events have a suggested donation of $10 per person to enter. Each event will also
feature raffles as well as auctions of artist merchandise, autographed memorabilia and other items
donated by local merchants. There will also be an online auction concurrent with the events.
**All proceeds from this event are directed toward Hurricane Ike Relief efforts on the Texas coast.**
