History
• From 1968 until today the success of the Rogner Brand
is based on recognizing needs and trends and the
courage to realise extraordinary ideas.
• Everything is essentialy done in-house:
Idea or concept development, plan, build and operate.
• Rogner International Hotels & Resorts is a family
business. After rapid growth in the early years we made
a decision not to become a corporate business but rather
focus on quality and downsized from over 40 hotels to 2
that we own and manage.

Friedensreich Hundertwasser
• Born in 1928 in vienna. Common name:
Friedrich Stowasser
• 1949 changed his name to Friedensreich Regentag
Hundertwasser
• Most successful austrian artist (fine arts)
• Worldwide numerous architectural projects – pioneer of
the green movement
• Died 2000 in New Zealand
Philosophy

• Mankind in harmony with mother nature.
• Whenever man tries to interfere with nature it is a
mistake that can not be corrected.
• There is no deficiency in nature. Only mankind knows
deficiencies and social evil.
• We have to give the earth back what we have taken
away.

We have created more space for people and also
more space for nature. Green, leafy roofs on houses
to discover and explore, houses that save energy and
are cool in summer and warm in winter … and all that
in organic harmony linked with culture.

Everything that is horizontal under the sky belongs to
nature. We have made it. You walk through woods on
hills and will be surprised to discover that people live
underneath.

• The straight line
Friedensreich Hundertwasser believes that the straight line is
unhealthy and is dominated by his believe in a line that is „alive“
• Windows
Windows are the eyes to the soul of a building  2400 different
windows at RBB
• Columns
Columns have to be like trees  330 individual columns at RBB
• The green roof
Cleans through filtering and renews the vegetation cycle in the
soil  the piece of vegetation that is taken away by the building is
given back  gives protection and shelters people
Everybody said: “impossible!”

RBB had to be privately financed because at the time
politics and banks did not have the courage or vision to
support such a unique, unusual project

3 moths after building commenced all accredited
contractors left the site; RRS had to finish the entire
construction with the staff of his own “little” building
company

No well known hotel management company could be
found
