Useful information to consider when buying a stove or
cooker from Euroheat...
Hearth
External air supply
All stoves must be
sited on a, suitable and
legal, non combustible
hearth or plinth.
All stoves over 5 kW must have an external
air supply. Certain models in the Euroheat
range can be fitted with an external air kit.
Heat output
Stove heat output is measured in Kilowatts (kW). It is extremely important
to calculate your kW room size. This will enable you to choose the correct
size stove for your home. If you choose a stove which is too small then it
will not sufficiently heat your room and you may damage it by operating it
at too high a temperature to compensate.
To help you choose the correct size there is a calculator on our website:
euroheat.co.uk/calculators
Position
Flue
Ensure that your stove will fit
into the space you have allocated
adhering to the minimum
recommended distances to
any combustible material.
Allow access to clean, service the
stove and sweep the chimney.
You must install a flue to remove gasses from the
stove. You can exit up an existing chimney using
a flue liner, build a new chimney or exit through
the building or an external wall using the Euroheat
range of ICS and ICID flue pipe. A HETAS engineer
can fit this or if you fit it yourself it must be signed
off by your local Building Control Officer.

Approvals

HETAS
Euroheat stoves and cookers
are approved by HETAS
where you see this logo.
Defra approved for use
anywhere in the UK.
Installation
We recommend that your stove is fitted
by a HETAS registered engineer who can
self certify that the stove is fitted to the
latest required building standards. Your
stove can be installed by any competent
person, but the installation will need to be
signed off by the Building Control Officer
from your local authority who will charge
an extra fee for this.
Building regulations
Please refer to Document J of the
Building Regulations.
Euroheat have a number of useful
documents that fully explain the different
considerations when buying a stove.
To find your local HETAS installer visit:

DIBt
The German Institute for Buildings (DIBt) gives technical approval only to
those stoves which, having undergone official laboratory tests, conform to
strict criteria for safe burning without using air from the room where the
stove is situated. The stove can rely solely on an external independent
air source to provide all necessary combustion air. The tests check the leak
rate, which has to be under 2,5 m³/h, at 10 Pa after thermal and mechanical
stress. For example, this includes testing the stove‘s door seal for airtightness after being opened and closed for a minimum of 6,000 times.

Wiking Luma 4
26
Affordable heating...
27
Why buy Wiking?
In a Wiking wood burning stove, the regulation of air
during lighting and re-stoking is managed automatically
through the Wiking Automatic device. A heat-sensitive
bimetallic spring expands or contracts depending on
the temperature in the wood-burning stove.
Wiking has more than 30 years of experience
with the manufacture of stoves; this is our
guarantee that all Wiking products meet
our high demands for quality, design and
functionality. The stoves are produced in a
high-tech production environment, using
modern equipment such as laser cutting and
robot welding. The entire process results in a
high, uniform quality.
Clean combustion
All Wiking stoves have a highly-insulated combustion
chamber of vermiculite plates. The vermiculite plates
ensure a temperature increase which is fast enough
for the combustion to be clean and efficient. Clean
combustion means less soot in the stove and chimney.
Wiking only use materials of the highest quality
throughout the entire process; soapstone
from Finland, stainless or aluminium handles,
ceramic glass from Europe’s leading glass
supplier and extra durable packing.
Unique closing system
A closely-fitting door and simple, easy operation can
be obtained with the help of the unique locking system.
The handle is embedded in the solid cast iron door and
blends in well with the stove’s form and finish.
Essentially, a WIKING stove is a convection
stove made of sheet iron. The advantages of
a convection stove are that it heats up and
distributes the air quickly in the room.
Combustion air system
A combustion air system can be connected to the
Wiking series, either at the bottom or at the rear of
the stove. The stove automatically sucks in fresh air
from the outside and uses this air during combustion,
leaving combustion independent of the air in the room.
Heat storage compartment
The WIKING Miro 5 & 6 and the Luma 5 & 6 are designed
with a heat storage compartment which can be filled
with soapstone. Soapstone has the ability to store heat
from the stove, which will then slowly be emitted into
the room. While the stove is burning, the stone in the
heat storage compartment will be heated up. Once the
fire in the combustion chamber has died, the stone will
continue emitting the stored heat into the room.

Why buy HWAM?
Uncompromising Quality
HWAM stoves produced by expert and traditional
craftsman with a perfectionist focus; combine simple,
classic Danish design with innovative technology,
making it possible to have practical heating with a
modern, contemporary touch.
HWAM are one of Denmark’s largest producers
of architect-designed wood-burning stoves.
For 40 years, HWAM has designed and
produced modern, high-quality wood burning
stoves with several patented advantages.
The company was founded by Vagn Hvam
Pedersen in 1973 and is owned and run 100%
by the Hvam family. Sons Stefan and Torsten
have followed in their father’s footsteps and
are today in charge of the company, the former
as the Managing Director, the latter as Head of
Research and Development.
Intelligent Heat
World-class combustion technology with HWAM’s
advanced Autopilot and Autopilot IHS systems ensures
purer combustion, producing less CO2, using less
wood fuel and reducing heat loss. These automated
systems automatically regulate the air, conveniently and
efficiently, controlling the stove perfectly.
According to Vagn Hvam Pedersen, one of
the reasons for HWAM’s great success is that
the wood-burning stoves are both beautiful
and functional.
Fuel Savings
The HWAM Autopilot IHS system maximises the energy
from the wood. The Danish Technological Institution
have shown the Autopilot system to be 17% more
efficient and use 50% less firewood than an equivalent
stove without the system.
Triple Airwash
HWAM technology ensures the glass pane always
receives heated air from three sides to prevent soot
build up.

Autopilot
Automatic control of your stove
Energy and economy
HWAM stoves from Euroheat include the unique
patented automatic system, ensuring the optimal
combustion at all times. Simply fill with logs and
Autopilot does the rest, no messing with control knobs
or levers. With the automatic regulation of the air,
HWAM stoves offer convenience and efficiency making
owning a HWAM stove easy to live with.
The automatic system ensures optimum utilization of
the firewood. The improved energy efficiency has been
documented repeatedly. Overall, you can expect an
improvement of 20 -30 % compared to conventional
combustion systems.
Minimum environmental load
Autopilot benefits:
Purer combustion reduces the strain on the
environment, both in terms of reduced consumption
of resources, but also in terms of reduced smoke
and particles.
At the heart of the Automatic system
is a simple heat-sensitive metal spring
which expands or contracts depending
on the temperature. This little spring
is the fundamental part of an efficient
and user-friendly combustion system.
The more efficiently a fire burns the fewer CO2
emissions are produced. Less fuel is used. Less heat
is lost.
Autopilot ensures:
• Cleaner combustion
• Higher efficiency
• Convenient and easy to operate
• Less impact on the environment
Independent tests confirm the Hwam Automatic
system increases the efficiency of the stove, resulting
in more environmentally friendly combustion.
Operation and cleaning
The automatic system optimizes the combustion so you
do not have to constantly adjust or monitor your HWAM
stove during daily use. All you have to do is light up and
enjoy the flames and the heat. When you add more
firewood, the system will automatically readjust the
stove for optimum combustion.

Autopilot technical information
Bi-metallic coil
Secondary air
Primary air
Glass air wash
The automatic dampers ensure that combustion air is led to the
right places in the combustion chamber, in the right quantities
and at the right time to ensure optimum combustion.
The bimetallic spring in the HWAM Autopilot controls
the positions of the dampers. As the temperature in the
combustion chamber rises, the spring expands and moves the
dampers, shutting off the supply of primary air and opening up
the supply of secondary air. It is solely the temperature in the
combustion chamber that determines how the dampers move.
The entire process is ongoing so that the supply of air for each
stage of combustion is adjusted precisely to ensure the most
eco-friendly, fuel-conserving combustion.
With a Hwam Autopilot system you can simply sit back in your
chair and let the stove do the work.

Autopilot IHS
Automatic electronic control systems
More energy, better economy
Brilliant solutions are often simple little details which
nevertheless make a huge difference in our everyday
lives. Hwam’s patented automatic system ‘Autopilot
IHS’ is no exception to this rule. Using an electronic
Lambda sensor to constantly monitor the combustion
process and regulate the air to always ensure maximum
efficiency.
The Hwam Autopilot IHS system maximises the energy
obtained from the firewood. The Danish Technological
Institute have shown the Hwam Autopilot system to
be 17 per cent more efficient than the equivalent stove
without this system and can produce up to 50 percent
more heat. In short, you get much more heating for your
money with a HWAM Autopilot IHS.
Automatic IHS:
simple, convenient operation
The New Autopilot IHS explained
Automatic IHS (Intelligent Heat System) features a
full Lambda sensor for complete, highly efficient
combustion control and a remote control for setting
your desired room temperature.
The temperature in the stove and the oxygen level in the
flue gas are constantly analysed and transmitted to the
air regulation box. Combined with the desired and actual
room temperature, the airbox regulates the air into
combustion to ensure it is always at its most efficient.
With the Hwam Autopilot IHS you do not have to
worry about manually regulating the air supply. The
Autopilot IHS system optimizes the combustion for
you completely automatically. All you need to do is to
light up the stove and enjoy the flames and the heat to
the full. When you add more firewood, the system will
automatically adjust the stove to constantly achieve the
optimum combustion. The Automatic IHS will even tell
you when to add more fuel via a gentle beep from your
remote control.
Remote control
The remote control is used to adjust the room
temperature to the desired level, continuously
monitoring the room temperature and adjusting
the output of the stove accordingly. When it’s time to
add more fuel, the remote control informs you via a
gentle beep.
(Requires mains electric local to appliance)
Clean burning
Deutsches
Institut
für
Bautechnik
Both Hwam Autopilot IHS system optimizes combustion
to ensure a clean, efficient burn, with minimal soot and
ash. This translates into easier cleaning – of both the
chimney and the stove itself. In addition, the combustion
chamber is designed with a unique window rinsing
system which keeps the glass perfectly clear. This way
you can always enjoy an optimum view a minimum
amount of cleaning.
The German Institute for Buildings (DIBt) gives
technical approval only to those stoves which,
having undergone official laboratory tests, conform
to strict criteria for safe burning without the use of
the surrounding air. The stove can rely solely on an an
external independent air source to provide all necessary
combustion air. The tests check the leak rate, which
has to be under 2,5 m³/h, at 10 Pa after thermal and
mechanical stress. For example, this includes testing
the stove‘s door seal for air-tightness after being
opened and closed for a minimum of 6,000 times.
48

Modern living...

Why buy Rika?
Rikatronic means the air supply is automatically
controlled during each combustion phase leading
to maximum efficiency, cost savings and reduced
environmental impact. Option to light the stove
manually, or automatically at the touch of a
button or pre-set time.
Rika has been pursuing research and
development in the field of stoves for over
20 years and plays a pioneering role in the
development of wood technology from its
headquarters in Austria’s Pyhrn-Eisenwurzen
region. The final touch to Rika products is still
completed by hand, but includes advanced
technology, including automatic ignition
options, notification of optimal re-fuel point via
LED display and heat resistant fire clay.
RLS
Operation to control the air distribution
ensuring maximum combustion at all times.

The German Institute for Buildings (DIBt)
gives technical approval only to those stoves
which, having undergone official laboratory
tests, conform to strict criteria for safe burning
without using air from the room where the
stove is situated . The stove can rely solely
on an an external independent air source to
provide all necessary combustion air. The tests
check the leak rate, which has to be under 2,5
m³/h, at 10 Pa after thermal and mechanical
stress. For example, this includes testing the
stove‘s door seal for air-tightness after being
opened and closed for a minimum of 6,000 times.
Visible stones and ceramics guarantee long heat
periods. During the burning period heat is absorbed
by the stove or ceramic covers and allows gradual
release for many hours.
Self cleaning glass
The glass air wash developed by Rika and registered
for patent provides a clear view due to optimum air
circulation without any manual intervention.

Why buy Lohberger?
Minimum environmental load
The brand Lohberger is synonymous with
innovative design, the embracement of
new technologies have lead to products that
are unrivalled in their class.
Purer combustion reduces the strain on the environment,
both in terms of reduced consumption of resources, but
also in terms of reduced smoke and particles. The more
efficiently a fire burns the fewer C02 emissions are
produced. Less fuel is used. Less heat is lost..
The patented Jetfire system from Lohberger
gives more output from the wood.
Two features make all the difference; firstly,
the flames are focussed directly above the
combustion chamber; secondly, they are mixed
with fresh air to ensure the fuel is burned at
temperatures of up to 1,200o, leaving virtually
no residue.
Multi-functional stoves
Lohberger understand that wood is the most versatile
of fuels, and able to offer so much more than simply
heating your room. The Cook Me stove features
a ceramic cooking top, perfect for those winter
casseroles, whilst the Bake Me comes complete
with a top oven section.
The Lobo H2O features an integrated boiler.
Advanced technology
The Lohberger range of stoves and cookers provide the
most advance wood and pellet burning technologies
with stylish designs suitable for any home. The cookers
can either be freestanding or built-in, with options
including integrated boilers, ceramic cooking tops, and
even smart phone control.
Bespoke handcrafted cookers
Each Lohberger cooker is made bespoke to your

Lohberger App
Pellet module
Pellet hopper
Lohberger App
There is nothing worse than a cold
kitchen early in the morning or after
a long day at work. With the patented
pellet module, Lohberger have
created an automatic cooker that can
be heated with wood or pellets. This
means it can automatically light from
timer, clock settings or App.
The pellet hopper holds
approximately 15 kg of pellets and
should last approximately 24 hours
in cold weather or several days in
warmer weather.
Enjoy total remote control from your
Android mobile. Simply load you
cooker with wood and start remotely
or set the timer to have your cooker
at the right temperature when you
arrive home. Connection for hard
wiring to router as standard.
Touch screen
The advanced touch screen
controller of the Lohberger pellet
module provides state of the art
control to your cooker. From simply
switching on and off, to setting your
required heating times for each day
of the week, the touch control makes
it simple and intuitive.
Automation
Using a timer the pellet burner
automatically ignites the wood
placed in the firebox and then shuts
down after the heating up phase
is complete. Once the firewood
has burnt down and if no further
firewood is added the pellet
module starts automatically to
meet the heat demand.

Integrated return temperature kit
Jetfire combustion
The return temperature kit can be pre-installed on the
rear of the cooker, meaning it can be simply connected to
an accumulator on site.
The patented Jetfire combustion system provides the
highest possible efficiencies, resulting in maximum
output and minimal emissions from your wood.
Hydraulic design
Large combustion chamber and oven
The AC105 is purposed designed for modern closed
(sealed systems) installations. The flow and return should
be installed to a suitable accumulator. Mains cold water
supply is required where the cooker is installed and a
suitable drainage point for the Thermal Safety device.
The Varioline AC105 features a large combustion
chamber and new larger B3 oven (width 420 x height 290
x depth 410 mm).
System design services
Euroheat can offer full connection hydraulic designs for
your installation.
Dimensions mm
Summer/Winter mode
The AC105 features a clever grate mechanism, allowing
the cooker to be adjusted according to the season and the
corresponding heat demands. In the summer months the
boiler output can be decreased to just 6 kW.

Log store
Essential for storing wood correctly allowing it to naturally season
Design features
The log store has been designed to encourage nature to naturally dry freshly sawn timber
as quickly as possible. Dependent upon type of wood, diameter and length, split or not split,
• Quick and simple assembly
this process can take anywhere between six and twenty-four months.
• Modular construction for
space utilization
Dry wood is a must for any type of wood burning. You must either buy pre-dried timber
• Felt shingle roof pre-fitted
• Option of cedar shingle roof kit
and keep it dry, or season your own. The log store has been designed in a modular fashion,
therefore facilitating both types of approach. One log store holds up to 1.5m3 of logs, if
you are buying pre-dried timber this may be adequate for your needs. However, if you are
naturally seasoning larger quantities just join two or more together side by side or back to
back. Remember burning dry wood will give you efficient, cost effective heating.

Moisture meter
The moisture content of wood for burning
should be as low as possible, but certainly
below 25%. This is particularly important if you
are burning wood in a smoke exempt area in
an approved appliance. In this case the wood
should be 20% or less. Wood with a moisture
content above this will not burn cleanly
or efficiently.
