When I had just a glimmer of hope left for my
son David, Birchtree showed me the universe.
Birchtree’s staff are dedicated, patient, and
they leave no stone unturned. They don’t just
teach David at school—they’ve also come into
our home to help us work on communication,
chores, play, safety, and the list goes on.
David Jr. greets his dad during
Birchtree’s 10th birthday
celebration in December 2012.

I’ve watched my son grow from a weed to a
mighty oak tree. And he is excited for school like
he never was before! I’m so proud of my son
and all the Birchtree staff.
—David, father of 10-year-old David, Jr.

A Fitness Challenge
For Autism Awareness Month
The Challenge: Birchtree’s students,
families, staff, board members, and friends

asked their family & friends to support
their efforts by making pledges per mile to
donate to Birchtree.
2012 Results: 84 challenge participants
logged 4,782 miles total and raised over
$21,000 to help local families in need
living with autism.
2013 Results: 131 challenge participants
logged 10,485 miles total and raised over
$26,000 for our Student Support Fund.
