Wednesday 13th April
7.30pm The King’s Men Concert
The world-renowned Choral Scholars from King’s College, Cambridge give a concert
of music from Tallis and Byrd to Oasis and the Beach Boys at Portsmouth Cathedral.
Tickets £10.00 in advance or £12.00 at the door. Refreshments available.
Thursday 14th April
1.10pm Lunchtime Live! – Oxbridge Organ Duo (organ)
Light refreshments on sale from 12.30pm. Tickets available at the door:

9.30am Junior Sing!
A new junior choir for children in Years 3-6. Come and have fun singing!
Refreshments provided during the morning for children, as well as bacon

2.00pm RSCM Workshop with Margaret Rizza
The inspirational Margaret Rizza leads this workshop featuring her latest
publications, and participants are invited to join the Cathedral Consort for choral
Evening Prayer at 5.00pm. Cost: £10.00, to include refreshments and music. Please

10.30-12 Noon Coffee Morning in Becket Hall, Cathedral House
Hosted by the Craft and Chat Group in aid of the Memorial Garden. Raffle, sale of
needlecraft, homemade cakes and preserves. Entrance 50p to include tea or coffee
and biscuits.
Saturday 23rd April
2.00pm Messy Cathedral
An hour of fun and craft activities followed by a short
service and afternoon tea. Suitable for all ages.
Sunday 24th April
8.00pm Taizé Style Night Prayer
A quiet and reflective 40-minute service using music and chants from the Taizé
Community in France.
Monday 25th April
7.00pm Murder in the Cathedral by T S Eliot – Information Evening. The
Southsea Shakespeare Actors will be performing this wonderful verse play in the
Cathedral on 1st and 2nd October to coincide with our Patronal Festival. The piece
contains a large chorus of the women of Canterbury and the company’s Director,
Lauren Farnhill is keen to involve female members of the congregation with this

Viewpoint Artist in Residence: Ken Divine - What Colour is the Sacred?
The screen in the Welcome Area will show a ‘haphazard colour machine’ which will
include people’s reflections of which colour represents the sacred for them. In St
Thomas’s Chapel the ‘haphazard colour machine’ will be projected onto a bed of
crushed glass and charcoal providing the opportunity to reflect on faith and God.

5.00pm Choral Evensong
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of our gap year scheme and attended by former
scholars and members of the Choir Schools Association attending their annual
conference at The Portsmouth Grammar School.
Tuesday 3rd May
1.00pm Classics in the Cathedral
Presented by Portsea Island Decorative and Fine Arts Society. Piano recital by Diana
Swann. £5.00 to include a drink and concert programme.
6.00pm Choral Evensong attended by members of the Choir Schools Association.

A quiet reflective midday service with the opportunity to receive prayers for healing
and wholeness with the laying on of hands and anointing with oil if desired. Ask for

Cathedral House.

The Mayor of Portsmouth will open the day which will include a wide range of stalls
from local community groups, agencies and social enterprises with information
about activities, events and services which promote good mental health and
wellbeing. Exhibitions of art, fashion and sculpture, and exciting interactive creative
activities for adults and children, as well as refreshments from popular pop up cafe,

Module 2 – Exploring the Bible – New Testament
Exploring Christianity is a course that seeks to make theology accessible to those
with no previous study of the subject. Modules last for six weeks. More

11.00am Eucharist to Celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Society of the Sisters
of Bethany in Southsea with the Archbishop of Canterbury.
The community was established in 1866 by Etheldreda Anna Benett and was the first
Church of England community to offer retreats for women. This celebration will mark
not just its significant history but also its role in contemporary Christianity as a place
of prayer and service. If you would like to attend the celebration on July 29,
