Every year nature performs a miracle in
the Northern Cape, sprinkling confetti as
far as the eye can see.
The seasonal winter rains over the west
coast and adjacent interior, trigger one
of the most spectacular floral kingdoms
in the world...A breathtakingly beautiful
phenomenon...
The Namaqualand region and specifically
the Namaqua National Park now boasts
a recently proclaimed coastal section,
which, during the flower season, bursts
into a carpet of colour quite unlike
anything you have experienced before.
Guests that arrive to see this annual
spectacular event can experience the
luxury and convenience of a mobile
tented camp, right on the beach. Located
in the Namaqua National Park in a
remote and scenically stunning location,
one kilometer north of the Groenrivier
entrance to the National Park, right on
the ocean.

A retreat quite unlike any other...
The luxury and convenience of an
elegant, exclusive, private mobile tented
camp, right on the beach, under skies that
seem to stretch as far as the eye can see,
turns into an oasis of rest and relaxation.
A retreat quite unlike any other, we go
out of way to ensure that your stay is
extraordinarily memorable.
Ten luxury dome tents equipped with
beds, soft comfortable duvets, crisp
white linen, hot blankets and electric
lights ensure that you awake refreshed
and completely rejuvenated. Privacy is
paramount and so you also enjoy the
convenience of your own hot shower and
spacious dressing room and a chemical
flush toilet.
As you laze dreamily at the start of
another Namaqua day, tea and coffee
is served right outside your tent. Sea

breezes combine with the aromas of
bacon and eggs, the perfect start to
any day. Order a jam packed delicious
and wholesome picnic basket and head
off on a tag-along through the colorful
landscape, a guided walk, a photographic
mission, a romantic rendezvous, or simply
sit and dream...
Succumb to high tea and chatter before
relaxing for a siesta and a shower...or a
spa bath. Sundowners on a panoramic
coastal sunset stage, are a pre cursor to
dining in elegant style.
Renowned for our delicious West Coast
fare, dinners are indeed very special
occasions. After dining in style around
a dinner table you can enjoy a nightcap
or two in the lounge, chat around the
fireplace and count the stars.
As you wander off back to the luxury of
your own tent and the folds of your warm
bed, it wont be long before the hum of
the ocean and the heartbeat of Namaqua
caress you to sleep.

You can also experience nature’s confetti
in a spectacular fashion at the new highly
sought after Namaqua Flowers Skilpad
Camp, which will be located in the
magnificent Skilpad area.
Due to this remote location, visitors to
this fabulously colorful world used to
hurry along – now you can slow down,
enjoy magnificent walks, cycles and
delicious picnics, at leisure, among the
flowers.
In true Chiefs style, you will be
accommodated in one of 20 fully serviced
comfortable and elegant dome tents, with
beds, soft fluffy duvets, LED lights, private
showers and chemical flush toilets.
Early morning tea, coffee and rusks,
full English breakfast and delicious two
course dinner included. Scrumptious delipicnics available at R225 for two. Cash
Bar available.

to Kammieskroon / N7

Kammieskroon is approx. 28km north.
NAMAQUA NATIONAL PARK
Coastal Section
to Hondeklipbaai
Bitterfontien, a small town on the eastern side of the N7, continue
north for approx. 38km.
Look out for the Groenrivier sign and turn left at the sign onto a gravel
road.
Continue for approx. 11 km (perhaps encountering a closed farm gate,
and simply open, pass through and close behind you).
At the T junction, turn right, and continue for approx. 300m before
turning sharp left.
You are on the final stretch, and sit back and enjoy the rolling hills of
the Namaqua hinterland, passing a number of farm steads, for approx.
50km.
Just before finally reaching the coastal road, turn right (once again close
the gate behind you).
Continue down the road for approx. 1km before arriving at the SANP.
Reception office, and it is here that you must complete your park entry
formalities.
After leaving the park office, head up the hill and continue for approx.
1km and Namaqua Flower Beach Camp will be on your left hand side.

Approx 28 km’s south of Kammieskroon is the small town of Garies, on the western side of the
N7, and depending on whether you elect to enter the town from the north, continue through the
town and approx. 1km out of the town, turn right onto a gravel road at the Groenrivier sign.
Travelling from N7 towards Hondeklipbaai, and approx. 15km before Hondeklipbaai, there is an
entrance to the park (look out for the Coastal Section sign) the camp is approx. 65km south of the
gate.

The best route to Skilpad is through Kamieskroon. Turn east into Kamieskroon from the N7, then left
onto a gravel road which passes underneath the N2 in a westerly direction. Continue 17km to the
Park offices and follow the Namaqua Flower Skilpad Signage to camp.
