Telstra Wholesale Wavelength Service
WHOLESALE
The ability to scale backhaul capacity rapidly
and efficiently is essential in today’s evolving
telecommunications market. A new generation
of business and residential end user applications
has emerged; complex, diverse and demanding
on bandwidth. The Telstra Wholesale Wavelength
Service caters for the increasing need for high
capacity backhaul and reliable performance.
The Telstra Wholesale Wavelength Service
provides high bandwidth, point-to-point
connectivity between network points of presence
(PoPs). Based on Dense Wavelength Division
Multiplexing (DWDM) technology, the solution
enables rapid upgrade and allows configuration
of your service depending on your needs.
Delivered over Telstra’s reliable and secure optical
fibre network, our Wavelength Service offers
bandwidth options of 1Gbit/s Ethernet, 10Gbit/s
Ethernet, 2.5Gbit/s SDH and 10Gbit/s SDH in selected
capital city metro areas and inter-capital routes.
2
Enable rapid and economical bandwidth increases
Once the initial DWDM equipment is installed, additional 1Gbps, 2.5Gbps or 10 Gbps
services between the same end points can be installed or scaled up efficiently and with
minimal disruption.
Maximise bandwidth utilisation
Dedicated bandwidth enables you to service a number of high bandwidth demanding
applications easily and confidently. You can avoid performance issues such as contention,
latency and delays that are associated with shared network alternatives.
Rely on a proven supplier
You can depend on Telstra Wholesale’s expertise. As an experienced supplier of backhaul
services we can tailor a backhaul migration path and rollout plan that meets your needs
and minimises any network down time.
Improve business efficiency
Reduce operational complexity while saving on the costs and lead time associated with
managing multiple supplier contracts. Our fibre network coverage enables you to access
geographically diverse markets and receive quality support from a single backhaul supplier.
Access 24x7 Network Global Operations Centre
Telstra’s 24x7 Global Operations Centre (GOC) provides capability for end-to-end network
monitoring, reducing downtime and continuing to provide a positive customer experience.
