Here Comes Spring and More Opportunities…
Welcome
to
spring! Where
did the first
quarter of 2016
go? Time does
fly, as busy as
many in our
community are these days. Last
month we talked about our great
staff at the Grapevine Chamber
of Commerce and the many
roles they play in support of the
programs and services provided
to nearly 900 Chamber members.
Another group that we rely on are
the volunteers that make programs
and events happen throughout
our community.
Throughout the year, there
are multiple opportunities to
volunteer for large events such
as Main Street Fest, May 20-22,
and GrapeFest, September 15-18,
or become more involved with
groups such as our Women’s
Division, Ambassadors or Senior

Services Alliance. We have weekly
and monthly events always
looking for new volunteers to join
our team. Special events such as
our Annual Grapevine Casino
Night, August 27, or Annual
Golf Tournament, October 3, are
always a lot of fun for all, but they
take a great number of volunteers
to create the first class experiences
we all are so proud of each year!
We hope you will continue to

Effective Presence, April 22!
The Grapevine Chamber’s Business
Insight Series continues Friday, April 22,
at The Courtyard/TownePlace Suites by
Marriot in Grapevine, with Brian Williams
speaking on the topic, Communicating
with Effective Presence - Learn how to
influence others when you communicate.
When you speak, does the prospect or audience consider
you BELIEVABLE, authentic, and vulnerable? Does your
team or clients regularly and repeatedly BUY into your
ideas, products, or services? 24 hours after you’re done
speaking, can the audience remember and repeat your
message to someone else? Did they BITE?
Brian will be sharing:
• What research teaches us about how to effectively
communicate or sell our ideas
• How you can learn a proven 6-Step Communication
System used by AT&T and Cisco
• How to communicate with the 4 C’s of Effective
communication: Concise, Clear, Compelling, and
Counterintuitive
With over 20 years of global corporate leadership
experience ranging from Silicon Valley to Fortune 100
companies in 12 different countries, Brian Williams brings a
new perspective to the business of Sales & Communications
Training. He uses his years of corporate and global experience
to bring depth and professional insight to the communication
skills he enthusiastically teaches today. He has worked with
organizations such as Cisco, AT&T, Gatorade, the NFL, and a
private company that only serves those on Forbes 400 richest
people in the world.
The Business Insight Series is designed for individual
employees, managers or business owners who are interested
in improving or developing their business skills. Check-in
and registration is from 7:30 – 8 a.m. and the program is from
8 – 9:30 a.m. Cost is $25 for Chamber members and $30 for
non-members. Register online at www.GrapevineChamber.

Those present at the March Membership Luncheon saw
the “Must Be Present to Win” Drawing continue its climb. The
prize is now up to $350 for April. Each month at the Chamber’s
Membership Luncheon, the drawing grows as long as the person
whose name is called is not in attendance. To win, all you have

Mission Statement:
“to promote business
that adds value to our community”
Hold up your beer high and celebrate with NJ on April 7th for
NATIONAL B
EER DAY!
On March 22, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, signed into law, the Cullen-Harrison Act.
This act, repealed prohibition for beer. Effective April 7, 1933, people could once more buy, sell and consume beer.
The night before, was called "New Beer's Eve" That night millions of Americans lined up waiting for the stroke of midnight.
On April 7, 1933, the first National Beer Day, Americans consumed 1.5 million barrels of legal beer and ale.
Let's all lift our frothy mugs in celebration on this very special day.
