Bone Manipulation and Immediate Implants in single and multi-rooted teeth are becoming established
practice in implant reconstruction. Expansion of a vital “bone flap” creates an intra-bony defect for implant
placement with the innate healing potential of host bone. Benefits include: improved esthetics, less discomfort, faster healing, eager acceptance and less cost than conventional grafting procedures. The synergy of
Cone Beam CT, Piezosurgery®, modified implant designs and rotary mechanical expanders with modified
osteotome techniques have simplified this group of technically demanding procedures. For Bone Expansion,
we will discuss the continuum of anatomic and procedural variations in the maxilla and mandible including:
single stage placement, full thickness flap, use of over-graft, “periosteal bone flap,” bone incision design and
expansion techniques. For Immediate Implants, we will discuss keys for predictably and long-term stability,
esthetic analysis and team treatment planning, provisional restoration, flapless surgery and atramatic extraction, minimally invasive bone grafting, connective tissue grafts and avoiding complications.

Daniel Cullum, DDS
Dr. Dan Cullum completed his DDS with distinction
at the University of Alberta, Canada and residency
training at Westchester Medical Center, New York.
Dr. Cullum is a Diplomat of the American Board of
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is on faculty as a
Visiting Lecturer at Loma Linda University, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and UCLA,
Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He
and speaks internationally and has contributed articles and textbook chapters on implant reconstruction.
Dr. Cullum has served in leadership roles at national, state and local societies.
At Implants Northwest (Coeur d’Alene, ID), he practices Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery with emphasis on immediate and minimally invasive techniques in
esthetic implant reconstruction.
Howard Park, DDS, MD
Dr. Park graduated with a Bachelors of Science
degree in Information and Computer Science from
University of California, Irvine. He continued his
education in dentistry at Harvard School of Dental
Medicine. After receiving his Doctorate from Harvard, he began his residency training in oral and
maxillofacial surgery at University of California,
Los Angeles during which he received his Medical
Degree. Dr. Park has been in private practice in
Santa Monica and a member of the Medical Staff at
Saint John’s Health Center. He is currently on the teaching faculty at UCLA,
Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a member of the Executive
Board of the Western Los Angeles Dental Society and maintains membership
in several professional organizations.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations six weeks prior to course date will be subject to a 10% Admin. fee. Cancellations up to three weeks prior will receive 50% refund. Cancellations less than two weeks are not eligible for
a refund. Implants NW LIVE Learning Center reserves the right to cancel a course with the full tuition refunded. In the unusual event of course cancellation, the course will be rescheduled or the tuition fully refunded.
