Your first experience of “Aloha” begins with your arrival at the Honolulu
International Airport, where you will be met with the traditional flower lei. Transfer
to the Sheraton Waikiki Resort. The island of Oahu is called the “ Gathering Place”
so while other travelers arrive, this evening and dinner is at your leisure to relax and

Today you visit Pearl Harbor and remember WWII heroes. First you will visit the USS
Arizona Memorial which marks the resting place of 1,102 of the 1,177 soldiers and
sailors killed on the USS Arizona during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Now that you
have seen the reason for the United States’ entry into WWII, let’s go see where it
ended. You’ll enjoy a deli style lunch with a WWII historian and then a docent guided
walking tour of the USS Battleship Missouri. Stand on the surrender deck where
General MacArthur signed the treaty to end WWII in Tokyo Bay. Seeing as Hawaii is
a cultural melting pot, tonight you’re going to learn how to dine Japanese style at a

Today, you’re off for the north shore big wave beaches of Pipeline and Waimea Bay.
Arriving at the Polynesian Cultural Center, you will walk through the seven different
cultures of Polynesia. Dinner will be a Polynesian feast followed by the most spectacular cultural show on the islands, “Ha – The Breath of Life”. B L D
HONOLULU, IOLANI PALACE & EAST SHORES
Begin your day with a full city tour of Honolulu including the National Cemetery of
the Pacific (Punchbowl), the Governor’s Mansion, the state capitol building,
Chinatown, and the King Kamehameha statue. Then you’ll tour the Iolani Palace.
The only royal palace on American soil, it was the official residence of Hawaii’s
Monarchy. After lunch, a short journey along the eastern shores of O’Ahu reveals
lush tropical rain forests, rocky cliffs and incredible views of the blue Pacific Ocean.
This evening, dine at the world famous Dukes Waikiki in a beach front setting at sun

Fly to the garden isle of Kauai this morning. Upon arrival you’ll take a leisurely cruise
down the Wailua River to the botanical beauty of the Fern Grotto. Make sure to hold
your sweetheart close as you are serenaded by the Hawaiian Wedding Song. View
one of Hawaii’s most beautiful cascading waterfalls, “Opaekaa”, then visit the Kōloa
Rum Company’s tasting room and experience their award-winning spirits. Next,
board a narrated train tour of the historic Kilohana sugar plantation. Dinner brings
the award winning Gaylord’s restaurant, where local farmers supply the fresh,
seasonal ingredients you’ll be enjoying. Overnight at the Sheraton Kauai Resort.

WAIMEA CANYON
Today is your chance to see Waimea Canyon, nicknamed, “The Grand
Canyon of the Pacific”, by Mark Twain. You’ll be given a visual and verbal history
along the way – Old Koloa Town, circa 1834, heart of Hawaii’s first sugar cane plantation, and Waimea, the little town that grew up where Captain Cook first set foot
in Hawaii in 1778. Arriving at the 3,400 foot level overlook , you will experience an
unsurpassed 360 degree panoramic view of this geological wonder. Your afternoon is

After a short flight to the largest island, Hawaii, you’ll spend the entire day exploring
the volcanoes, tropical forests and world famous black sand beaches of the “Big
Island”. Volcanoes National Park is a big highlight today. Learn about Hawaii’s active
volcanoes and see their features throughout the park. Whether you’re gazing at a
lava tube, steam bluff, or waterfall, your guide will provide fascinating insights into
the island’s rich geology, history and culture. Tonight you will enjoy Euro Asian
Inspired Cuisine with all the bounty of Hawaii Island’s freshest local ingredients at
Roy’s. Check in at the Hilton Waikoloa Beach Resort tonight with dinner taken at

KONA COFFEE & CHOCOLATE EXPERIENCE
Begin your day with a visit to Holualoa Kona Coffee Company, where you will see
the process of coffee production from seed to cup and sample a few as you go. Next
it’s on to the Original Hawaiian Chocolate Factory, where you will see the farm and
experience the process of chocolate production from seed to bar. Return to your
hotel after lunch for free time to relax. Dinner will be at your leisure this evening in

MAUI, THE IAO VALLEY & LAHAINA
Pack your bags for a quick flight to Maui this morning! From the airport, descend
into the Iao Valley where tropical plants, waterfalls, and swimming holes accentuate
this tropical rain forest. The final stop of the day is the historic town of Lahaina,
an old whaling seaport lined with restaurants, shops and over 40 art galleries. Your
home on Maui will be the The Westin Maui Resort & Spa. Have some time to enjoy
your resort before dinner at Hula Grill Kaanapali, a family style extravaganza with a
three course Polynesian themed dinner and relaxing Hawaiian entertainment. B L D
HALEAKALA VOLCANO & O’O FARM EXPERIENCE
Travel to the very crest of Haleakala Volcano, 10,000 feet above sea level! This
volcano is Maui’s “House of the Sun”, with a moon-like crater the size of Manhattan
and spectacular views of the island. Lunch includes a unique O’o Farms farm to
table experience. Begin with a guided tour of the farm, then participate in harvesting
veggies. Chef JJ will cook your harvested veggies and complement them with fresh
caught local fish of the day. Next, embark on a two hour ride aboard a large sailing
catamarans in Ka’anapali. Enjoy beautiful scenery while indulging in your favorite
beverage from the bar and a selection of appetizers. You have free time to explore

Today is free for you to pick and choose the activities of the day! Consider optional
hotel activities or a West Maui Barefoot Snorkel Cruise. Are you ready to do the
Hula? It’s your final night and we’re all going to say “Aloha” with a traditional
Hawaiian party where you’ll be doing the hula, enjoying traditional Hawaiian foods,

General Information
RESERVATIONS
Reservations may be made directly to John Hall’s Alaska by mail, telephone, or in person. This tour is open to John Hall’s Alaska alumni and friends or family that will be
touring alongside the alumni.
DEPOSITS
To confirm your reservation please send a deposit of $500.00 per person within ten days of your reservation. To reserve your space by credit card, please contact our office.
FINAL PAYMENTS
Final Payment must reach John Hall’s Alaska 90 days prior to tour departure date. If payment is not received on time, space may be released; re-booking will be subject to
availability. Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express, and personal checks are acceptable forms of payment. A discount of $200 per person will be extended for tours
paid by cash or check. ($500 per person deposits may still be made by credit card).
CANCELLATIONS
If a cancellation is made in writing at least 90 days prior to departure, a full refund will be made. For cancellations made less than 90 days prior to departure, the following
per person charges apply: 71-90 days - deposit amounts, 29-70 days - 50% of total charges; 15- 28 days - 75% of total charges, 14 days prior to departure, 100% of fare. In the
event of interruption or cancellation of your tour after its commencement, there will be no refunds.

Special diet requests. specific medical conditions, physical disabilities or other special needs requirements must be noted at the time of booking. We do not discriminate

all special meal or diet requests may be available, we will request where appropriate. In particular, please let us know if you have had a recent change in a medical condition

TIPPING/GRATUITIES
All gratuities have been included in the price of your package with the exception of your Tour Escort. This includes all waitering staff and luggage handling gratuities while on
tour. Tipping your Tour Escort is not required and should reward exemplary service.
PACKING RECOMMENDATIONS
The dress code for this tour is casual. Swim wear and sandals for beach days. Comfortable walking shoes, jeans and shorts or capris for touring days. Don’t forget the sun
protection: sunblock, sun glasses and a hat. A beach bag is a good idea for hauling beach items and towels.
TOUR DOCUMENTS
Tour documents, including detailed itinerary, luggage tags, and passenger lists will be mailed approximately 14-21 days prior to departure. This may be delayed if final
payment is not received on time.

John Hall’s Alaska reserves the right to revise the services included in the itinerary such as hotel accommodations and attractions. In cases of substitution, a comparable
quality service will be used.
