The Electric bicycles - Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco
The electric bicycles
The bikes are equipped with small electric
motors which assist the rider’s pedalling. The
batteries have a 12-15 mile range in Monaco.
The bicycles have 7 gears and use a drive
shaft instead of a chain. With this system
you can ride accross Monaco without a
sweat or a dirty mark. You can even ride in a
suit !
You can configure the electric assistance
with the aid of the buttons on the handlebars : three assistance modes (low, medium and high) are available plus a turbo.
You also have a button to turn the lights
of the bike on and off. All the information is visible on the small screen on the
handlebars : selected mode, speed, battery level, mileage (in km).

The Monaco e-bike sharing service is an automated system
of electric bicycle docking stations. It is offered by the
Monaco Government and entrusted to the Monaco Bus
Company.
After a test period, 10 stations and 55 e-bikes are now at
disposal in the Principality of Monaco from 1st May 2013.
The e-bikes of Monaco complete the existing public
transport network and are part of a global policy in favour of
a sustainable development of the Principality of Monaco,
the improvement of air quality and the reduction of
greenhouse gas emissions.
The scheme is intended for short journeys. You can take a cycle
as often as you like per access period. A usage charge is applied
depending on the time between picking up and returning a cycle.
Usage charges will be debited from your account monthly.
