Chelmsford HC News Bulletin Fixtures @ Chelmer Park Issue Number 54 @ChelmerPark 29th March 2013 Chelmsford Hockey Club 30/03/13 - L1s www.chelmsfordhc.org.uk Ladies 1st XI Unfortunately the Ladies 1s (although still having one game to play) know that they have finished their season in 9th position of the National Conference East League, thereby necessitating a fight for their survival in the National League at the relegation play-offs over a few weekends in April. First up, the ladies will face Conference West team Staines at Chelmer Park on 6th April, with an anticipated 11.30am push back. Staines will then meet the 9th placed team in Conference North (still to be confirmed but either Liverpool Sefton or Cannock) on 13th April, before the round robin tournament is finalised when Chelmsford travel to face Liverpool Sefton or Cannock on 21st April with the top team of the three playing in the National League again next season. Kat & Anna New kit for season 2013/14 Further to the announcement in late 2012, we can confirm that progress has been made with regard to changing our playing kit. As part of a move to improve the image of the club and to ensure uniformity of kit across all teams in both the senior and junior sections, we have decided to move to a mainstream manufacturer. After taking some soundings, and speaking to a number of leading brands, we have decided to introduce Adidas kit from 2013/14. In selecting Adidas, we took account of the positive feedback from members of the GB squads in relation to comfort of wear in all circumstances, durability and design. Adidas is a worldwide brand with both sporting and leisurewear credibility. The intention is that the kit design we have chosen [see page 3] will be unchanged for a 5 year period to ensure that members get good value for money from the purchase. Initially, we will offering only playing kit: shirts, goalkeeper’s smock, socks, shorts, skirts/skorts. Over time we will consider moving to Adidas tracksuits and other outerwear, but initially we think it unreasonable to expect members to replace these at the same time. In the meantime, current tracksuits and other old kit etc will be available from existing stock held by Alliance Sports Like other clubs who have moved to Adidas recently, we are asking all members to buy the new kit to ensure team uniformity. Your kit will be personalised by your own, allocated shirt number which will remain yours for as long as you are a member. This will avoid number clashes as players move between teams. There are a number of details to sort out but the intention is that: • We will roll out the kit for each side in turn to a timetable to be announced – it’s likely this will extend into the Autumn so teams will adopt the new kit on a phased basis during next season • You will be able individually to try on samples of kit to ensure that the sizes are right for you • Orders will be placed on line and delivered to you personally or via the club • There will be regular ordering points throughout the year We ask everyone to actively support this new initiative and to be patient with us over the period of transition when the new kit is rolled out. CHC AGM will be held on Friday 21st June in the Clubhouse at 8pm. It would be great to see as many of you there as possible to support the club or voice any issues or concerns. Please note the bar will be open!! Chelmsford Hockey Club – Adidas Kit 2013
