Serving over 10,000 children daily services include, preschool programs, before & afterschool programs, day camps, environmental education programs, enrichment programs, sports clinics, convention childcare, hotel programs, and the management of two state parks. About PACT Founded in 1968, Parents And Children Together (PACT) is one of Hawaii’s leading not-for-profit organizations providing a wide array of innovative and educational social services to families in need. Assisting more than 11,000 people across the state annually, PACT helps families identify, address and successfully resolve challenges through its 16 programs. Among its services are: developmental screening, early childhood education, child abuse/neglect and domestic violence prevention and intervention, mental health support, youth activities, and community and economic development. No Cost To Parents Eligibility requirements for Early Head Start: Age - Program is for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years old. Applicants will need to show proof of age. (i.e. birth certificate) Income - Applicants will need to meet at least one of the following criteria and provide documentation: At or below the Federal Poverty Level for Hawaii Show proof of income 12 months prior to application What is this partnership about? The current administration in Washington has placed significant focus on early childhood programs and their importance for not only young children but for the stability of parents and families. Because of this recognition, an RFP was issued and PACT and Kama‘aina Kids partnered in submitting an application. This Partnership allows our very youngest children to access full day full year quality child care and receive additional comprehensive services such as health, nutrition, mental health, and family engagement. The program is available to families that meet certain income guidelines. What is the grant and how does it work? Through this partnership there will be four Kama`aina Kids locations on the Leeward side that will provided the following: Full day, full year childcare programs for children Diapers and baby food Early developmental, behavioral, hearing, vision and dental screenings When will the program start? The application process is ongoing and applications are being accepted now. Services start for the children on August 3rd. Receiving public assistance. (i.e. TANF) Receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Homeless Foster Care Grant requirements: Preference is given to children with parents who are working and/or going to school full-time and provide documentation. Preschool Locations: Ewa Beach, Iroquois Point, Kalaeloa and Maili.
