March Edition, April 1, 2013
Bowling Was a blast. All of us finally scored 100 or better. This is a major accomplishment for us as the
best we had previously done was keep the ball out of the gutter. Members attending were: Del &
Mike Woolsey, Daisy & Pat Landry, Patsy Mcfarlain and Judy Flint. Two of our regulars, Charlene
Boudreaux and Wayne Pertuit were out due to sickness and hail (sounds like a vow, huh?).
A very special apology goes out to Priscilla Youngquist as her name was accidentally omitted from the
birthday picture published in the Times Picayune-Gretna Edition. And I wish I could say it was the
newspaper’s fault, but it wasn’t. The fault was mine and I sincerely apologize.
Well! Well! Well! Marrero-Harvey Bean Baggers were well represented at the GNO Senior Olympic
Games on March 13th.
The Olympics were opened by the carrying of the torch from team-to-team. Patsy Mcfarlain and
Carolyn Rivet handled these duties for our teams.
We had two teams – Sinsations #1 and Sinsations #2. Both teams advanced to the medal round with #1
beating #2 for the bronze medal. Notable performances for Team #1 were Barbara Guidry in Game #2
who hit a home run with 2 on base and in Game #5 Wayne Pertuit hit a home run to secure 3rd place.
For Team #2 was a walkoff game winning home run by Patrick Landry against Metairie and a game
winning walkoff grand slam by Catherine Breaux against Chalmette. Members of Sinsations #2 are
Catherine Breaux, Dora Simoneaux, Judy Flint, Daisy Landry, Callie Fouquet, Charlene Boudreaux, Del
Woolsey, Patrick Landry and Captain Carolyn Rivet. Everyone on both teams played their hearts out.
Pictured below are the winning medalists Sinsations #1: (R-L) Myrtis Chimento, Mike Woolsey, Vivian
