little dose of Hollywcwd recently
when the college hosted the
Multimedia Magic Seminar,
Three "heavy hitters" from the
entertainment industry provided
Spencexian students with a look
inside their daily lives.
Greg Burn, from Universal
Studias Fbrida, was the f i s t to
take the flosr. Hr? taIlced abmt
what it's likt!working for the
enterta-at'
his pusition of "warkg many

The second speaker was Scott
Cline of Sole' Media in Bostonj

JoeMcGrath, a recent graduate
of Spencerian College's Computer Graphic Design program,
now teaches two courses at the
college; Intro to Digital Imaging
and intm to 2I4.Design.
Joe has f o d it considerably
different to be on the other side of
the desk. "I knew there was a lot
of preparation but never realized
how much wcnt into actually
teaching a class. As a student my
primary goal was to learn, but as
a teacher I not only have to know
what I am going to teach but also
have to take care of a lot of other
things like paperwork!" he stated.
reaching is a
learning experience
"As a student, I developed a
good knowledge of design skills,
and had achieved proficiency
in softwares, such as Director,
Illustrator, ahd Photoshop.
The education T had received at
Spencerian provided me with the
ability to use different softwares
and gain pmficiier\cy in basic art."
"At first being a teacher was a
bit awkward since 1 am younga
than many of my students," Joe
said, "so I guess you could say
that being a teacher is a great
learnina:ex~eriencein itself.''
The "results"
are finally in!
Aithough the subjects
were serious, Becky
Cooper's Pmfersional
Development Class
had fun with their
presentations on an
ethical dilemma. 7%e
students studied
"chads" on an imaginary ballot as they
discussed the recent
presidential election.
