Kokanee Warm Up!
Kokanee bite has started for Bluemesafishing.com! We were working the usual laker spots trying to keep our poundag
avail. I dropped a lead core 3 colors back and SLAM! Kokanee on! The fish were moving fast and we managed six an
more! The fish had been thrashed by lakers and we soon figured out why we couldn't get the bite together. So we swit
Kokanee gear and started at 10 over 34 fow with the usual stuff- mepps, tazmanians and sepps. The bite was fast and f
many fish just ripping drag and then gone. We continued to work the banks down from the Dam- (Lake Fork) looking
dimpling the surface. All the fish were healthy and fighting until the end and friend Kevin and myself enjoyed a good
11am it shut off and the fish moved off- but we're excited for the summer fishing season and this was a great beginnin

Lakers Taken!
We were back at Lake Fork today trying to put some big lakers in the boat. Mac island was a bust so we moved across
into the Soap Creek Arm. We put down our best presentations and were only rewarded with browns and dink lakers. F
and angler Ryan was seen netting a few hogs in the late morning and more than one angler hooked lakers up to 15lbs n
Elk. Great job guys- leave us a few next will ya. So all in all not a poundage day but the numbers did satisfy with a few
made it to the dinner plate. No report of kokes as of yet other than a few accidents but I'm confident we'll put an ealry
together if it kills us. Great catching guys and keep on 'em before they become a distant memory!

Elk Creek Comes Up Short
We trecked some new territory with master angler Robby Richardson in search of an early Koke bite. We scoured the
along with a few other dedicated anglers and came up with small browns and lakers instead. The action was steady bu
didn't show.- Better luck tomarrow- see you out there. We are going back to our stomping grounds at Lake Fork toma
to increase the poundage and change up the species!

was at Sportsmans and gave a hell of a talk. He had all of us saying DUHHHH! why didn't I think of that. Bob, aka Bobco g
awesome talk on jigging kokes at Blue Mesa. I consider koke jigging one of Colorado's premier fishing opportunities and if
done it or haven't had success you're missing out! Bobco spelled it all out, naming hotspots and showing gear and lure selec

Hey guys, Casey Gdowski, the Captain and owner of Bluemesafishing.com charters- no reports today. Some of Blue's best a
giving it all they got today and I haven't heard anything yet. We're working towards a live video report on Youtube so bear w
the techincal junk. I will have the window up in the reports soon. Other news is that Jared Johnson from Rocky Mountain
speaking at Sportsmans warehouse next wednesday the 6th at 6:30pm. This guy has it together. My first trip to the gorge, h
what to order, where to go, and I caught 3-5lb kokes on the first drop. His tackle is insane, and it works on Blue Mesa. Chec
Rockymountaintackle.com. In other news, our second passion here at Bluemesafishing.com is East coast stripers. The run
with all the 10-15lbers and bluefish you can catch. In a few more weeks the 20-60lb cows will start the feedbag and you can
there. Ask about our Ocean kayak charters- if you can handle it! Wayne at wayneswords.com is reporting sick action at Lak
wide open on Stripes, walleye, all bass, cats and paper mouths..... so start fishing!!!-- keep fishing, and we'll be at it hard ag

Hey guys, just stopping in to drop a line. Below is the biggest fish of the boat this spring which is a 33 lber landed by Derick
Great Job. Anyway, the other pic is a tag we caught off a fish earlier in the week. We'll hand it in to the DOW and see if we g
not, even though we released every mac caught this year. And, speaking of getting yelled at, out of towners be prepared for
inspection of your boat this year. All secondary ramps have been closed and the primary ones will be manned by DOW to c
and tag your boat to prevent mussel infestation. I personally hate anything that gets in the way of an already challenging 6a
if it helps the fish, lets play along. So, make it through a couple more days and get out there and catch.

Well the bite had finally trickled to a hault for ol yeller. We pounded the pavement, threw the kitchen sink and were reward
fish for a half day trip. One brown and one 22.5 lber. This was Colorado native Kevin Scanlons biggest fish to date and he w
emailling me about it. Anyway, the feedbag is now being digested so some of these fish will watch your offering and slink aw
to be fooled again. Sunker dunkers have been getting back for the hours put in as we watched one angler fight a fish for 15 m
to pop him off at shore. Keep up the good work guys. Well, eep on em gents and practice catch and release whenever possib
here at Bluemesafishing.com. We'll be sailing again this weekend so look for the yellow boat and book a trip if you want rip
Memorial Day is already booking up so get on board while you can. Tight lines.

Well we had a decent bite before the blow. The captain picked up an 11 lber while the other guy was eating a sandwhich- ke
on the rods or I will grab it. Anyway, it was a beautiful day for trolling, no big boys but you can bet the guys putting in thier
pulling cows. Notable catches are being talked about in the 30 and 40 pound range. One angler reported him and his crew
60 browns and another 30 lakers upto 24 inches. The good news is the fish are here. The bad news is theres no easy way to
burn the candle and get here and put in your time, the fish will respond.

Today was a bit slower with macs. Our fare landed a 9lber and lost a 10 at the boat. We had periods of inactivity but manag
catch together depite the calm water and sunny skies. The browns and bows kept us busy while chasing big echoes below. S
is coming in so batten down the hatches and get ready to rock n roll on the water tomarrow.
Thursday, April 23, 2009
Today was beautiful weather-wise and the browns were cooperating. We landed many three pounders and alot of dinks. Ple
on the graph but not too many takers. Fishing is only going to get better so get em.
Wednesday, April 22, 2009
Today the weather was beautiful and the fish were cooperating. We caught plenty of browns, a few rainbows, and a few fish
poeple say we should not talk about. Summary is that fishing is great and like always all fish were released. We practice cat
at all times unless someone is dying for a trout dinner. So the fish are still swimming, biting so go come and get them.

We decided to switch gears and track down some monsters. The lake was loaded with dedicated fisherman and many hotsp
tracked up or packed in. The crew and I decided to make a run to new grounds and were rewarded with our efforts. We nai
trophy’ s and all the browns you could catch! What a day!

Snow Snow Snow! We were stop dead in our tracks at the boat ramp as 6-8 inches piled up at the boat ramp. The old Ford
started sliding towards the lake on our first pass to launch. After flying out of there and making it slowly up and back to the
we decided to call it quits for the day. Out at 6 am, home by 7 pm. We will lick our wounds and see ya out there tomorrow!

The ice is off at Blue Mesa and you bet we were right there to get in on the action! The brown bite was red hot with fish up t
shorelines and sandy points. There have been a few big fish caught around the Lake and we were lucky to ran into a couple
Fishing is great right now if you can stand the cold, the wind and icy cold water.

Tomorrow is tax day so make sure you buy plenty of tackle instead of putting into that IRA account! Blue Mesa is 70% iced

windsurfing area and middle bridge. Iola is still socked in with glaciers moving here and there. Both marina should be open

Ice fishing for kokanee is always challenging but a few fares got lucky today with a fast and furious bite up the lake fork arm
10 kokes up to 18” . Most fish were caught on Genz bugs tipped with work and short pop gear with small spoons. After the
moved to an inlet and hooked up with some nice browns. This year there is very little snow on the lake for long periods of t
makes it easier to move around- no slush holes! Keep at it, don’ t step in someone else’ s ice-hole!

Ice fishing has been hot! Main lake humps are producing average size lakers in the morning, with the bite slowing around n
around the center of draws have produced some fish in the afternoon with many lookers. No big boys today but plenty of fi
