Property Class 10.9 and 8.8 Cap Screws
are produced to meet the chemical and
mechanical requirements of ISO 898/1,
ATSM F568M and SAE J1199. We have
also produced metric cap screws to
PC 8.8 PC 10.9
PC 12.9
Property Class 9.8 and 12.9 properties.
Dimensions are per ASME (ANSI)
B18.2.3.1M, which are basically identical
to ISO 4014/4017 and DIN 931/933. Nucor Cap Screws are designed to hit the dimensions of all
three specification series except for M10, M12, and M14 products. The width-across-flats is 1mm larger
for DIN than for ANSI or ISO in these three sizes. DIN 931/933 are German specifications, revised in
1987, which were intended to be withdrawn by July 1, 1992 at the latest. There is still a considerable
customer demand for product manufactured to DIN 931/933, so we offer M10 through M14 with head
dimensions (width-across-flats) to either ANSI/ISO or DIN dimensional requirements. Nucor Fastener
is TS16949 and ISO9001 Registered and our laboratory is A2LA Accredited. Nucor Cap Screws are
100% Made in the U.S.A. from American steel. They are formed on precision high-speed coldformers,
utilizing in-process quality systems and have full traceability from raw material to each container we
ship. Chemical and physical certifications are provided with every shipment.

Metric Structural Bolts are made to the requirements

identical to Property Class 8.8 and 10.9 requirements
in ISO 898/1. Surface discontinuity limits are
specified in ASTM F788/F788M. The threads are rolled as specified in ANSI B1.13M, to metric
coarse thread requirements.
structural nuts
Metric Structural Nuts are manufactured to ASTM A563M Class
10S requirements. The 10S Nut is listed as a suitable nut for
both ASTM A325M Bolt (8S is recommended for non-plated
10S
parts, but a higher class nut is always suitable) and ASTM
A490M Bolts. The nuts are made to the Heavy Hex dimensions
ASTM A563M
Class 10S
of ASME(ANSI) B18.2.4.6M. The threads are tapped per
the metric coarse thread series as specified in ASME(ANSI )
B1.13M (with Grade 6H tolerances). Surface discontinuities are covered in ASTM F812/F812M.
